Hi Dave, I am happy to take one. But i dont have soldering skills. So my question. Will the all the wires be OK to tied with hands and put tubing on top them??? And if i want to reposition under the nose panel. How long wires will be required?? Thanks Bains
Well, to put it simply, no. For each wire that was to "untie" itself, you would lose a cylinder. If the wire that untied was earth, you would lose all of them. You have 3 choices: 1. Solder in the new one 2. Crimp in the new one 3. Plug in the new one (utilising plugs from somewhere) I was given some plugs that should be able to get you out of trouble, but I haven't looked into this close enough. I will see what I can do for you. As for the wire length for repositioning, I actually question the need. The S2 PTU doesn't fail for heat related reasons. Well, I have never heard of them failing anyway. However, if you want to clean up the wiring on the front of the engine, that's another matter. I can lengthen the wires for you. When I know what I can do, I'll send you a PM. Let me know if you need the wires lengthened.
Thanks Dave for the information, i might crimp them or the plugs. Send me your payment details mate. And when installing this ptu, is it best to disconnect battery?? And what else??
Instructions here: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=305719 No requirement to disconnect battery. PM sent.
I am going to prepare this for you today so that all you have to do is connect 1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc. Then send it on Monday.
