Haha that was pretty funny thanks for that man and yes it was like that lol

I talked to the body shop repairer and he told me QBE (the insurance company) never
contacted him about the situation so the Z's been sitting in his garage since the day
of the crash.. gees. Then he called up QBE to tell them the car is a total loss.

I'm seeing the QBE mobs tomorrow after work so will keep an update in this thread
what happens next for those interested.

the problem I see here is 3 fold. first the price we see parts selling for here is for ease of sales sake and the fact we are a group of like minded enthusiasts that are not trying to gouge each other so parts are relatively cheap, the body shop is buying through the dealer and putting a markup on product - hey he is there to make a profit - we all know that the dealers will gouge him, the cars are getting cheaper/older and the insurance companies are going to take every note they can of that because we know how they love the term "market value".

To sum it up, panel shop is getting gouged by nissan for parts, and putting a markup on it, then to sell it to the insurance company who want to tell us our cars are worth next to nothing. answer is total loss the car is not economically viable to repair.

I dont agree with it but the only way around it is agreed value insurance, or self insurance.

I get what you mean buddy, sad reality freakin' sucks..

Well the QBE guys finally came to check out the car this morning and will get an
estimated pre-accident value on the Z - will let you guys know how much these
guys are offering for our Z's these days.

Keep you updated, should get a quote on Monday.

Thanks to all for the support :)

your other option is to cash settle and keep your car then buy the parts privately and get the repairs done, slow with lots of fluffing around. but may be your best option to keep the car.
