I was driving home the other day and my car started to shudder, then everything just went dead...
No searing, no ignition, no breaking (as in, high pressure and minimal stopping).

I coudl use my lights, but that was about it.
After trying 10000 different things I found that the 'ign skid ctrl' fuse had blown.

What could have caused this to blow? and where whould I find new ones?

Could've been damaged from trying to jump start the wrong way, or even just from old age. 30amp fusible links I believe they are, I've got a handful from my parts car you can have a couple if you want.

Nope just plain ol fusible links. Skid control refers to your abs I believe, is your abs light on? Does your abs work? (I wouldn't go trying this until you have another fuse in place though). Best way to test abs is to hit the brakes hard while reversing, should cause your front wheels to lock up and trigger the abs.

    Oh really?
I was gonna just drive on dirt.
Breaking hard in reverse, is that good for your car :S

Won't do any damage. Cars and their brakes are designed to go forwards and backwards. Though it's wet enough outside at the moment to lock up at a safe speed if you wanted too..
