  1. Hey guys

After I installed the following FMIC...

the car has no power and there is an abnormal noise coming from the intercooler under throttle. I have checked all the connecting hoses for leaks and have found none. Has anyone else had this problem or can suggest a solution? Cheers,

    Al.

Boost leak from the intercooler itself? or a block?

Have you got an air compressor? Try taking off the intercooler, blasting through one one side and seeing how much comes out the other. Might be blocked.

There's really very little it could be other than these - unless you've bumped or unplugged something else in the process. Some members here have that same FMIC and can't complain.

got the piping on correctly? quite common to have them with the turbos feeding the same core, and the throttle bodys side connected to the other half,so obviously the car goes nowhere!

I'd bet this is the problem, seen it happen more than once. Also check all the pipes and make sure you didn't leave a rag or something in there.

I always wondered if you could blow something up doing this lol

You can't blow anything up if there is almost no air being drawn in.

Your pipe work needs to resemble this.

Please note how the pipes cross over.

pipes should be front left to back right and front right to back left and bingo:br:

  11. Thanks for al the replys guys, and all of you that bet is was a case of incorrect piping were 100%........correct *hangs head in shame*

As the kit itself came with no instructions I was trying to set it up as per the eBay photos one night at a time that was way past my bedtime. Problem is that the eBay photos only really show one side of the piping, so I just set up the other side he same way without thinking.

After fixing it the next morning it ran, and continues to run great! Thanks again guys for assisting noobs like me

    lolololol

nah. When I first installed my FMIC I did the piping the wrong way. Realised before I was done though.

  13. Yeah, I wish I had realized before I put the bar back on! It made it that much more frustrating and fiddly trying to swap the pipes over with the bar on. Oh well, as they say; all's well that ends well!
