eh sh&t happens. ill blame it on going on the net just after avdays work. the brain doesnt work properly lol
What kind of safety features come with the ZX and what kind can be added? I was thinkin lower the front as low as possible to go under any cars i tango with, but that wouldnt work with a tree would it lol
also you're not actually serious are you because if you are that's the most ****ing retarded thing I've heard on this forum it's an 80's sportscar with a removable roof. the only safety feature of a tt z32 is that you can't crash while broken down
I dont condone it but thousands of P platers drive turbo cars in NSW, skylines, Silvias, etc and I dont know how they dont get caught just the luck of the draw eh
Mate you had to learn bout shit once too, you had to ask dumbass questions and now, so do i. thats the way the world goes round. Anyways... is there much that can be done to improve the safety performance of the vehicle?
Good tyres, brake pads, they already have ABS brakes. The early models which are what's mostly kicking around don't have an air bag, the later models do if you can find one. If you decide to get new brake discs (rotors) there's contacts here on the forum so you can order them over the phone and they'll mail them to you along with good pads. Getting used to such a low car is important, If for example you're in a car park making a right turn and they have the stupid hedges 1m or taller you wont be able to see over it to see if there's another car coming. You can get HID head lights which are a lot brighter, stock bulbs are junk.
I was the passenger during my accident. i was asleep in the back having a sleep after a turn at the wheel. And there isnt a chance in hell that i WONT buy a zx
Cheers for the replies guys I was the passenger during my accident. i was asleep in the back having a sleep after a turn at the wheel. And there isnt a chance in hell that i WONT buy a zx
Alright, i'm going to be more helpful haha there's no official safety rating for the z32. comparative tests have seen it safer than the likes of the rx7 fd, mk 4 supra and c4 corvette etc of the time but none of them are particularly safe either. one plus I guess is that z32's are big cars - a lot of metal to collapse before the driver. the biggest danger is the targa roof - if you flip a z32 it will very likely collapse on the driver. if you want increased safety, buy a slicktop. here's a z32 crash test: [yt]kXkaVUuKQqs[/yt] Watch the roof line where the targa meets the windscreen. According to that video, driver protection is "average" and passenger protection is "below average".
Want safety? Then don't buy a turbo. Less inclination to go fast = safer? You can buy a later model na auto aus spec with an airbag if you believe all the bs about them saving lives. That's about as safe as you get though. No 5 star ancap rating for your 20yr old jap sports car sorry. Also, I believe the increased safety rating was for aus spec's who all had pillar mounted seatbelts anti.
get a series 3+ slicktop NA. pillar mounted seatbelts, driver's airbag and a tin roof. winner! only two seats though. all slicktops are two seaters.
cheers for the info anti and others, so its pretty hard to come by a slicktop z then i take it? thougj you said it only comes in 2 seaters ive seen and heard of 2+2 versians, (conversian maby?) that crash test was interesting food for thought.. mihht have to give tbis ne. thanks info a bit of considerationj
