so after replacing my series 1 ptu with another my car still wont start, after this i put my m8s working ptu in but again still not starting, i dont think i have spark as i did check it, would i need to have to pull the spark plug out to check for spark or can i just put the coil pack near the block and turn it over ( thats what i did coz was told to) i do not have acccess to a computer to plug into it. if any one could give me a few handy tips to try i would be very greatfull, iv been told it may have a fuel problem but im unsure where to start looking.
i need to get on the road asap.

    cheers :)

Reconnect the spark plug to the coil pack and rest the thread of the spark plug against an earth (eg plenum)

as pexzed said - but sometimes best done in low light - what I mean is that a weak spark is still a spark and will prevent you from going a different direction altogether

throw any S1 PTU to china automatically.......the dramas that can happen with one of them!!!!!!!!! - should've been recalled (world wide)

You can still get codes off your ecu using the led light if you need to.

if you put the known s1 ptu on and check for spark again with the spark plug in the coil pack and still nil replace the cas.
