I'd steer clear, unless you can fix it yourself or know somebody who can do it for you on the side. Damage could extend to the chassis rails which would then need to be straightened on a chassis machine. Considering you can probably get a straight zed that won't need paint for around the same money, possibly a bit more.

thanks for the reply, I was actually looking for a car i could do some work on. So if its just the panels I'm not fussed.
Just would like to know the history of the car or if anyone knows about it.

Just had another look and noticed the bonnet is bent, which could mean the radiator, headlight and nose panel support could be bent requiring straightening or replacing.

**He even says in the ad that the radiator has been pushed back and bent the hoses so the car cannot be driven. Other things to check then would be the front of the motor so clutch fan, water pump, underdrive pulley etc. A mate smashed his skyline in a front end tap and managed to damage his waterpump (then drove it home dry :\ ). Best bet would be to go have a good look at it if it's close to you and get a good idea at what exactly will need to be replaced, and how much it will end up costing.

For an extra $1500 you could have this: Linky Needs no immediate body work, and while the colour isn't the best it IS a slicktop. And we all know the cool kids have slicktops :p

Looks like it may have JUST missed the drivers side chassis rail direct impact, however the force of the impact could still have bent the rails.

It doesn't look too bad relative to other front on impacts, but the only way to get a better idea is to pull off the front bar and have a look! This will give you a better idea but still if its a repairable write off it may need to be checked over by a professional and cleared as "within spec" to get it registered again. I am unsure of the laws in WA.

If any of that doesn't make sense to you then I would suggest that this isn't the right z for you and to keep looking!

    Cheers,

    Adam

EDIT: I only mentioned the chassis, engine is another matter entirely! That purple one has an interesting wide body..not sure if I like it! All the cool kids do have slicktops though hehe

what ryzan said is correct, my crash was almost identical and my car needed the rad support pulled. 1 grand later she was fixed.

Not worth it! You can get a non damaged fixer upper for far cheaper! Someone just flogged off a straight running tt for $1500 on gumtree. Missed it by 5 minutes, but my point is that there are better zeds out there. There's a few in the quokka at the moment too

That cars could cost you $5k just to get to rego stage.

    $250 bonet
    $150 ea guards
    $350 front bumper
    $100 nose panel
    $300 radiator panel
    $200 Radiator
    $100 Fan & clutch
    $50 Fan surround
    $?? paint & panel work
    $?? clearance certificates.

And that not counting whats damaged under the panels, or engine.
That car is only worth $1000 as stands at the most.

$3k-$4k will get you a drivable (rego running out) project car you can keep on the road.

If you know where to look Josh you can get the prices you have quoted but no way are those sorts of items widely advertised or readily available for chips. I was chasing a front fender not long ago and after doing a lot searching around I had to resort to paying $110 for the D/S from a wrecker after just missing one for $40 :(

Point is, gmbrezzo's prices are valid depending on timing.

You deal with the Midnight Express?
Those prices are normal s/hand prices.
Forum members let things go here a bit cheaper I'll admit that.
Thats when they are available on the forum.

I have been watching the for sale here, Ebay, and enquiring via wreckers for similar parts for the 2nd zed I bought for a fixerupper.
If he's got to go and buy those parts now (not wait 6 mths) then that would be the general price.

But you are in WA and they do things on the cheap over there.:rofl:

It says in the ad that it's undrivable due to radiator hoses being pushed back and bent. Which will mean damaged fan, clutch, radiator, shroud etc.

pictures show the headlight has been pushed back, which means the headlight bucket will be deformed, as will the rad support......

fair bit oif work there, but "maybe" fixable..... bit of a risk imho

not really. most bits are that price constantly... a bonnet is NEVER $250 even from the scrappers...

we are talking about some oine from here buying it and fixing it up.... parts are cheap here and its not like you HAVE to fix it on 1 weekend os you can drive to work the next day, there no need to get the parts then and there you can wait a week or 2 for them to pop up which they often do

    1 more point

Did the car get written off, even if repairable write-off it has to go over the pits and all repairs have to be certified and engineered ;) and you will need reciepts for all the work done.

Each to their own, but last time I checked, getting a professional to do airbrushing was rather expensive.
Not to mention your Z with its coat of kermit-the-frog green covering up a backyard blue marble effect before that. People in glass houses mate...

'cheap' doesnt always mean cheap price tag....lol keep up sunshine... there is no blue marble nor green paint on my zed

and yes i know people in glass houses should always wear pants... im learning i know but i prefer to free ball when at home
