i have a n/a auto how hard and what would i have to do to be able to run this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NOS-NITR...Accessories&hash=item2eb4c68803#ht_1449wt_955 cheers jamie :br::br:
Was looking at those kits beforehand, decided not to waste my time. Not sure how hard it is as i've never installed one, but the nitrous jets in the "wet" systems inject fuel & nitrous into the motor(would need it for both TB's) and i would use a window switch to avoid a nasty engine failure. Its not like fast and the furious where you hit warp speed when its pressed.
A window switch is one that will turn the nitrous on during a certain RPM, say 3500-6000 for example. Trying to inject nitrous at too low RPM can cause engine damage, as can hitting the rev limiter while spraying.
i see that makes sense it certainly would save your engine. if someone who has installed a kit into a na could pm so i could ask a few questions that would be awesome tkx guys
Or you could just run a switch off the TB linkages that only permit n2o at WOT. That's how I used to do it in the dark ages.
Seriously though Nitrous is nothing but trouble on a street car and no matter what anyone says it does destroy engines.
Actually, if done correctly and if the jetting is reasonable the car can last as long as a stocker. Look at what RIPS NZ do, the skylines they tune do 800+hp day in day out with nitrous. Its all in how its set up.
I've heard that argument... ...and I'd still only ever run the stuff on a drag car. It's very harsh on rings, and no matter how well you set it up it's prone to issues, bottle pressures and temps, pooling. Best to avoid and on a street car it will get you arrested... I was arrested in 87 and might have even been the first person in QLD arrested for nitrous on a street car. *laughs*
What about the new "hoon" laws. Its a risk of getting the car crushed...not good. If you want more speed and power go the TT route. Leave the giggle gas to the movies. Not worth loosing your car over.
Would need an engineering certificate... ...along with being disconnected. But, you'd probably get away with it in NSW with just the bottle removed.
I know of a 13 second corolla that runs everything but the bottle on the street, no engineer certificate is needed due to the lines & foggers etc being classed as general load The lines don't do shit with the bottle not connected, he has it in written & signed proof from the RTA.
