Who has a 300 race car

have been having a look around the forum and searching but thought it might just be easier to post a thread on the subject.

who has or is building a 300zx based race car?

I am building one and am very interested in looking at what others are doing or have done.

 

Check out the dedicated motorsport section.......that should give you a good indication as to the members who are heavily into racing their Z's!

There are quite a few!.......but Vic locals that immediately spring to mind are WYKKED, RedZedMikey, Sandeep, Tektrader & Peter Black (with the latter both in the process of building one! - check out their build threads!)

 

Depending on what sort of racing and what class you decide to race in would determine how you build it.

I'm in the process of building a high HP drag 300.
I'm working towards 650 before NOS. God help me.
I have a great mid-age crisis going on.:br:

 

Definalty more interested in looking at circuit racing type cars/projects for idea's, as that is what we are planning on doing with our Zed.
Not really interested in classes or anything as we already have our hands full with drag racing and probably won't get serious with this but just want something to have fun with on tuning days at Barbagallo raceway.

basic plan is LS3, 6 speed, 18x9 & 18x10 wheels with Yokohama ADVAN tyres. 50/50 weight balance, 1 piece fiberglass front end...totaly stripped shell.

something to keep me out of the pub on cold winter nights...

 

so you are building a track car for fun not racing against other cars, well in that case anything goes more like sport sedans, big engines, wide wheels etc.

i am currently building a race car to super street specs. Not that there are many regulations in the class. Basically keeping the weight to a minimum, power to sane levels, and some well thought out mods should see my car deep into the 11sec bracket, reliable, and best of all, for under 10k including the car. i do currently have a build thread. Speak to chris (ezzupturbo) for fabrication, conversion or just general info. His help has been invaluable to my build. Also jamie (chilledpain) for parts, i do believe he has a roll cage for sale.
