So I started the Z last night for the first time in like 10000 years.
First start since the full service and replacement of water pump.

After filling it up with water, I had a tiny slow drip from the exact god damn place it was before.... so I'm hoping this goes away and the water pump isn't ****ed again.

Also, its squealing liek a stuck pig. All the belts are on fine, and they all have a nice bounce tension to them.
I rubbed soap on them and the squeal went away for a while, then came back, so its SOMETHING to do with the belts I'm guessing...
    WTF could it be?
Not in the mood to re-do everything as i dont have time :(

When you buy a new water pump, they don't come in a tub of water :S
But It was all put together and sitting/waiting for about... 3 months.
How does that stuff the pump though?

that would have been my question so i guess it relates more to used pumps.has the pump had water in it before or is this the first time you have filled it.Have you put coolant in as that lubricates as well.have you checked all your idler pulleys and a/c unit.have you tried backing your belts off slightly to see if it makes a difference.

Its just me here atm, so no haven't done that.
But as I said, squeak went away for a bit after soaping belts...
So I'm fairly sure its them :S

cant hurt to replace the belts as they might be hard and cracked, good maintenance anyway.how long have you run the car for? if you let the car warm up and see if the noise stops when the belts warm up.

The belts are new, did 100k service, replaced all belts, timing belt, water pump, re-sealed everything, replaced hoses and a lot of wiring.

And im 99.999999% sure the belts are all on correctly.
Shoulda prolly stated that in first post soz..

ive had the same thing with brand new belts, a little squirt of belt conditioner, the type that softens them a little would be good and should do the trick, and also helps avoid cracking in future :)

    EDIT: Spelling

mine did the same thing in my 4 seater when i got the belts replaced, i got told mine should be fixed by re tensioning them but it would make sense to chuck some lube on them.

not sure about crazy bad :D it was the normal loud shit, but maybe i'm just used to it :D but it can't hurt to try, just make sure the engine isn't running while you do it :p i did that once, and the bloody thing slipped off, while i was out at the car was, lucky i had my tools with me to get it back on.

I normally do it every wash, so 1000ks or so, just to help keep the belts from cracking.

EDIT: as long as its the right stuff, can't hurt the belts, normally the only thing you have to be careful of on the belts is petrollium based products, that eat into the rubber, everything else is fine and shouldn't do any harm, worst thing that normally could happen is it wont work :D :zlove:

Coolant can make belts squeel if it got on them. Nothing but time and maybe that belt lube will cure. Just a thought.

tightened belts, squeeks on startup then stops after a few seconds.

It has a small leak... facing the ngine from front of car, its the back right...
I can jsut hear a "stsssss"on the hot engine every... 7 seonds or so...
Any idea what it could be?
