Hey guys, In WA, whats the most ideal place to get a major service kit from? Also car's had a plenum pull not too long ago, what else is needed? water pump, radiator flush, hoses replaced and thats it? its had a minor service done last week.. what else is needed? oil/grease linkages? gearbox? cv joints? etc.. im not entirely sure and dont have a manual to look it up in.. Also, is it possible to get the timing belt/chain seperate? and the water pump separate? because most hoses have just been replaced anyway.. cheers!
cool, did you read my other question? is it a good idea to separate? only grab timing belt/chain and water pump? coz the hoses ive changed and plenumpulls done? cheers! ty for useful sites (yea im old i know lol)

Tech Section is a good place to start. Ignore the TTZED.com at the top (and the pricing), they are not around any more, what plugs, timing belt, brands etc etc can be searched for previous threads, but OEM parts are price competitive and have been very reliable. General service and plenum pull/bypass is pretty separate from the 100K service list, but obviously if water pump has been done another wont be required, if radiator is nice and green and you don't have any cooling issues you should be pretty right, if its brown a good flush and replace the radiator if its the original, trying to service it is probably uneconomical, CZP linked below have 2 KOYO options (use there search box), an OEM style and a "racing" radiator, might want to check local KOYO prices, particularly the OEM style as freight will be about $50-$100 from the USA. http://www.conceptzperformance.com/...r_Type=NIS300&UID=2011062023140760.241.47.117 and this http://www.conceptzperformance.com/...&Car_Type=300&UID=2011062023140760.241.47.117 and this http://www.conceptzperformance.com/...&Car_Type=300&UID=2011062023140760.241.47.117 and this http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=552 and this http://www.czp.us/Cart/description.php?II=291 and this The extra Crankshaft Sprocket Plate, front or rear depending on what is in the above kit. Reasonable extras: 2x (I believe they shouldn't be reused but plenty do.) http://www.conceptzperformance.com/...r_Type=NIS300&UID=2011062023140760.241.47.117 (reused ones have been known to snap) http://www.conceptzperformance.com/...&Car_Type=300&UID=2011062023140760.241.47.117 PCV Hoses etc Fuel Filter Oil Oil Filter Balance Pipe O-Rings Change OEM VTC Springs in kit to JWT, apparently upgraded and capable of reducing rattle. http://www.czp.us/Cart/description.php?II=641&Car_Type=300&UID=2011062023360660.241.47.117 The rest of the car should be gone over and inspected for issues in detail by someone experienced with Z32's. Could also give the brake system a treat with new OEM brake lines.
The 60,000 mile or 120,000 mile kits that CZP has for sale seem to be pretty good and have everything you need. Also some of the kits you can get the Unorthodox under drive pulley and belts to suit in the kit as well as JWT (VTC)Variable Timing Control Springs x2 Nismo Thermostat Power Enterprise Kevlar Timing Belt What ever has been replaced you could always keep in case or put them up for sale. Spark plugs would be cheaper to buy here. There was a group buy with some nice plugs at a nice price but i think it has ended. What you have listed is a general listing of what is needed for a basic 100k service kit. Other parts in what brisz has said is a good idea to get. With the CZP kits some of what brisz has said come in the kits and if you have a budget then buy what kit you can then buy what ever else you want to replace buy them yourself and with the way the dollar is great time to buy!
So brisz that list is what a 60 mile service kit consists of you mean? yea i got brembo brakes and custom brake lines im not sure if thatll work anyway.. yep, OEM ftw. yep, i saw it in the group buys but a few weeks before that came up i bought the exact same ones but just a tad more expensive! thanks guys.. v helpful info
The large image at the beginning of my post was lifted from the "Tech Section". The links to CZP/Z1 were just what was required to make up that list, as well as a few extra bits and pieces that aren't on either list. As far as I know there isn't a "standard" kit for 100k/60m, these packages have been developed over a period of time based on the FSM stipulation to change the "timing belt" only, this can be found in the MA maintenance section of the manual. Most things are "check" on the maintenance schedule, very few are "change" and there are time frames which ever comes first, what is really needed, what is keeping Nissan service departments fat ? Timing Belt 100k/5 years ? Oil/filter 10k/6 months Brake Fluid 40k/24 month Air filters 40k/24 month Coolant 40k/24 month Fuel Filter 40k/24 month Spark Plugs (Platinum) 100k There are reductions for these under the "Severe Driving Conditions" schedule. Getting back to the 100k "kit", its well described over here http://zhome.com/Buying/cawmmi.html , basically your spending a fair bit on labor to get in there, and considering that the next time will be in another 100k, will your water pump/pulleys/seals etc last another 100k ? Some of it is so accessible and cheap, its worth doing. So over time the "kit" has developed in many slightly varying forms. To my knowledge there is no more detailed "schedule" for this service, (happy to be told otherwise). How much can it be simplified, that's probably best left to a good mechanic to inspect and make the decision based on your needs.
ok final question is... my dads nissan pulsar is scheduled for work by our family mobile mechanic and hes pretty good with these sort of cars. Do you people think its safe enough for me to get him to do the service for me in those 2-3 days? i just dont want to leave my zed out in some garage for days "waiting to be worked on" and then a day or two for the work to take place.. not to forget the zeds my daily until i organise another car.. cheers!
Any GOOD mechanic shouldn't have a problem, the benefit of a good Z32 experienced mechanic is that he has been there and done that before, he knows the ins and outs of the process, but nothing that should bother a GOOD mechanic. If you choose to go with him, maybe give him a copy of the timing belt section of the manual, it has a few things that would be helpful to him, belt position tooth count, hydraulic adjuster info regarding stopper bolt.
You got some secret hidden Zeds do ya V8 Eater? One recently serviced Z for sale and another one needing a service?
i didnt say it had a MAJOR service buddy just serviced but its had a partial major service - timing belt hasnt been replaced yet nor the belts (power steering belt ie).. im buying a cheap zed that ill do up at my own pace after this sale tho (as a project) zeds r supa hot n sexy - tough as hell as well - I was surprised (my first twin turbo) and these things GOOOO !! :zlove:
