The "LIGHTS" on the dash is a warning that you have a blown globe(possibly a BRAKE light one).
Try checking and replacing any globe that needs attention(if "LIGHTS" remains illuminated on the dash, then your problem may be wiring related).
If the Brake Lights are staying on, it may be a faulty Brake Light Switch.:zlove:

Also you can check the lights electronic monitor amp under the back covers behind the back bumper on driver side in the boot. My amp failed because of water in it this can give false signals to the dash light.

2nded. First check bulbs in tail lights, then see if you can swap the amp in the rear right hatch for a known working one temporarily.

also try opening the kick panel. Look for a white connection or loom, it may have popped out a little bit, causing tail lights to work but not break lights.

Switch at pedal, fuse, wiring harness, "Blown light" sensor box in boot, all 4 globes blown

hold on, do the brake lights stay on or the tail lights when head lights are on? The globes are double filament.if its bright as, check switch on the brake pedal.

Sounds like the dreaded black box problem that many of us have had. There is a bit of circuitry in a black box near the RHS tail light whose sole function is to warn you by lighting up the dash LIGHT bulb if you blow a bulb.

They are a cranky piece of gear and the best way to test whether yours is still functioning properly is to bypass it completely with a few bits of wire (use Search). If all of your lights then function as they should, the box is the problem so either leave the bypass in or go find a replacement black box.

this pic is something barry posted up ages ago.

very handy and I woud recommend a bypass (stick wires in the connector for all pairs except the non used ones. then you can bin the black box):

That's a pretty complicated circuit for what it does.

And mass production of PCB circuits has come a long way since those days. Dry and/or broken joints are not uncommon and sometimes just refreshing the PCB tracks with a soldering iron is all that is needed to bring a dead one back to life.

The one in the pic was absolutely fried and could not be resurrected.

That's about as self explanatory as it gets, and the easiest job you'll do on a Z.
If you stuff it, you'll blow a fuse, so no biggie.
Give it a go and report back.

The box is located near the drivers side tail light assembly
