    Hey all,

I know that Barry from Adelaide Z Cars is highly recommended for vehicle servicing from members on this forum...

However, is there a workshop CLOSER to the city that is also affordable and knowledgeable with 300's?

...or is it really worth driving 40 minutes to get my car serviced, with no way to get home (meaning I would be waiting while car is serviced...)

Any helpful feedback will be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    George

I drive 45 minutes to my main guy and either get a lift back or stay and watch, and I don't complain... you gotta do what you gotta do for your Zed. It's worth it in the end.

I'm presuming youre down south? Or at least south side of the city. If you were up north I would be happy to give it a going over. But as you're already aware Barry is as good as they come. I do know of a nissan service center down old port road. Bloke by the name of Brenton. He's pretty amazing with his tools and knowledge. I'll try find the number for you. I used to work next door to him. Most lunch breaks i would go into the workshop to see what's going on. Always friendly. Had some work done to my pathfinder there. Also got cheap genuine parts through him.

45 minutes he's about 2 hours for me, but it was worth the drive.

I have to drive FIFTEEN whole minutes to get down to Barry's shop. With a trip that long I need to take one potty break and 2 playground breaks. Sometimes I skip one of the playground breaks if I'm running late, but I have to get a ice cream if I do otherwise I get cranky.

This post was purely for Chris/Amanda's amusement

Perhaps if you're lucky Barry might give you a tour of his extensive collection of dead Z's in the back lot while you're there, and if you are then pay particular notice of the one that got wrapped around a gum tree directly in the drivers door, still sends unholy shivers down my spine.

I agree Barry is the best person in Adelaide to go to. I also drive 40 minutes but it's well worth. I just had mine serviced last week and I watched the whole thing. Very good bloke

I agree!!! last time i went there (first time mind you) i was talking to him for a good 3 hours while he was working on a customers car. He took me out the back and also showed me the "dead silver zed".. once again, same thing, real bad shivers down my spine!! sorry to dig up an oldie.. but its definatly a freaky experience!

I laugh at you daily Tom. Sometimes for no particular reason too. Just that occasional thought that crosses my mind where you were wearing your gf's haircut... i laugh. You Funny Guy.

But in all seriousness.... it maybe 15 minutes for you, albeit your pregnant womans bladder requiring attention and need/fascination for bright pastel coloured playground equipment. To have your car serviced or at least even spoken about by others. But its 10 steps for me to get my mechanic onto and into our cars engine bays...why do i have to be so handy Tom? :zlove:

    Handy, I'm not so sure.

HandSy, I'd say, is a more appropriate description.

PS, driving to Mount Gambier tomorrow. Probably gonna take me all week to get there...
