    Hi Guys,
im replacing my Nexan 3000 which have been very good.

The current replacement thinking are a set of Nexan 6000.

    Has anyone used these tyres?
Genuine constructive feedback would be aprreciated.

    cheers Bruce

    Yep Bruce.

I reluctantly took this step 6 months ago, and I couldn't be happier.
The N6000's are every bit as good as the old N3000's(in the dry)and are superb in the wet as well(due to the extra wide drainage grooves, that were not part of the N3000 pattern).
All the recent wet weather we have had in Sydney, has given me ample opportunity to assess the feel/grip/confidence available from this tyre. Big improvement over the N3000(which was already a pretty good tyre IMHO).

    Cheers
    Lloyd

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

That's good info there Chili. As i've heard the newer N6000's weren't as good as the N3000's.

I've had the old N3000's before and have been very happy with them, but felt they were lacking in the wet weather department, but exactly as you mentioned, they didn't have decent drainage grooves in the tread pattern - which i now firstly look for in new tyres for wet weather traction/safety.

Well Benny, I was definitely expecting to be somewhat disappointed with the comparison(due to how happy I was with the N3000's).
Industry advice was that the rubber/silica compound had been improved beyond that used in the 3000 Series, and that the addition of wide drainage grooves had made big improvements in wet weather handling.
I don't usually believe too much marketing hype.
    The 1hr 45mins(200klm)return drive from Goulburn Nats(in torrential rain)convinced me.:zlove::zlove:

I like the Federal 595, but it sounds like you'll be happy with the Nexan 6000.

Ditto on the Nexen 3000's they were pretty good, I still have them on the front and have ended up with 2 Hanook's on the back which are a little bit "Mushier" for lack of a better description.
How much are the Nexen 6000's??:br:

No experience with nexen BUT in a similar price bracket I can speak very highly of the sumitomo htrzIII

    Moo Shocking...

It depends on what you're looking for.. What your price range is, what overall performance you want from your tyre, if you're doing high speeds, carrying a heavy load...
There are a lot of variables.

Tell me what the general use is, and I'll help you out. :)
    - What speeds you'll be doing..
    - What load your carrying
    - If you're going to race on them :p
    - What weather climate you're in

    As much possible info's :D
(I test tyres, quite literally for a living. :p)

    Moo Shocking...

Personally, I didn't like them on my Z, especially for the price range they're holding.

I would rate them 3 and a half stars, though, I've never been a fan of "brand named" tyres.. Bridgestones, Goodyears, Dunlops... Most of the factory standard stuff off Commodores and Falcons.

The load + speed rating on them wasn't my cup of tea, and you could feel it at higher speeds.. I'm talking excess of 135km/h.
There are few tyres that hold their shape and strength at high speeds, but like I said, there are many variables in every circumstance; weight of the car, the pressures you run, the speed you're doing...

The tyres that Rob said, the Sumitomo ZIII, are what I run on my car, I run them really hard.. 50 PSi rear, 48 PSi front. 275/30x19 rears, 235/35x19 fronts. High pressures are good for your tyres life and fuel consumption, cause you don't lug on the road, it doesn't drag you back, just don't over inflate... There are many more problems if you do that. :p Find the perfect balance, young grasshopper.

48/50 psi???? I can't imagine what a bone rattling ride that must produce(must be similar to riding in a Horse-drawn cart on a gravel road).:rofl::rofl::br:

does that take you back lloyd

surely you can remember what the ride is like, wasnt that the way you got to school back in your childhood? :D

Big pressures aside I thought conventional wisdom was to run higher pressures in the front compared to rear?

No, but it sure as Hell was the way we got around my Grandparents Northern NSW farm(when I was on holidays).

Not many here who would be familiar with a 1 hp all-terrain vehicle.:p:zlove::zlove:

Some do, some don't. I run the same all round(it's easier to remember during those brief moments of lucidity).:p:p:zlove:
