is there a trick to getting the pressure clams off from the top water pipe ! .. seriously....
i cant even get pliers onto the one on the left hand pipe.

in the past I've got a flat screwdriver onto it enough to turn it a little. Get it to around 11 o'clock or somewhere around 6 or 7 o'clock... Then you can either get pliers onto it from below or thru the gap. It's a tight fit but do-able.
I have a small pair of vise-grips long nose pliers. They lock on and make the job a little easier. Then yank and pull until the crusty coolant lets go. Or a bit of silicone spray / WD40 or anythign else will work too ;-)

They are a good preventative maintenence item. Any length of radiator hose with a similar I.D. will do.

Haha! Dont just pull on the hose it will never come off. Always make sure u rotate left and right whilst trying to get it off. Much easier

yeah ive got 3 sets of that hose spare anyway .. over ordering haha.. apparently i dont know the difference between a 1 and a 3 lol.

And i was trying to twist it.. but there isnt much give..

i might just unbolt the small aluminium connectors and remove the whole item.

There is a tool for these clamps One of the guys at work has one and it is just GREAT, but at $180 to avoid using the long nose pliers I am giving it a miss,

    s_t_r_e_t_c_h flammin zed!!

Go to super cheap and buy a pair of large long nose bent pliers.. Remove the clamp fully then if you replacing the hose just cut it off :)

Those little (and fragile) alloy sections are what gave the 2 idiots a world of hurt. Be careful... or at least take a lot of pics along the way for lolz :zlove:

I think it can get down to the bottom of the timing belt.

I am going to buy one of those...

bolt hunting.. i dont tihnk this is going so good and i dont even wanna risk putting it back together and starting it not knowing where or what that bolt is sitting on..

on another note... after fighting with my top water pipe for 2 days now ..

I have given up and resorted to cutting the hoses off...
    (NOTE)
the new hoses you can buy for this are brilliant, form a amazing seal, good condition hose.. JUST GOOD LUCK EVER GETTING THEM OFF AGAIN.

Magnet. bugger the claw type. you need to see the item before you can pick it up! magnet just poke it around......

I think both are good, magnet is good for metal items, but some items are easier with the claw.
