Plenty of info... except for the info surrounding how he ripped off forum members to the tune of $10k. Convenient how some infor 'disappears'
Grip If its only 1/8th mile it will come down to your reaction times and the amount of grip you can get more so than the power your putting out. Just saying you might want to pactice at some lower boost settings if you keep lighting up the rears.:br:
Its kind of weird though.. were the tyres start to light up is where the doughy spot used to be, so it kinda eliminates it.. i dont mind that, but your right... i do need to practice launches tonight, racing is tomorrow cant wait to see the look on my mates face when he either blows the crank through the sump (20 psi boost on a stock everything) or i win (obvious reason) thanks for the NOS info too, shall read it
oh yeah. lower the rear tyre pressure to about 15-18psi. dont let your mate see you do that, else he will do it too! will give you much more traction on the launch! :br:
if i was you i'd forget the reaction time as you are more likely to stuff something up if you are nervous anticipating the green. just take off when you feel ready and go by the time slip. reaction time is irrelevant
will be filming almost 5 hours worth, obviously not me in the whole lot lol. i did think that, i would be going about 18psi, it should be alright then i would imagine. I still dont know how to upload photo or video to the forums yet, i will post links and photos cant wait for tomorrow
I have drag raced before on my bike.. was good to learn on a bike because im more comfortable and feel more in control of bike over a car. best reaction time (which sounds fake but isnt, lost the time slip though ) 0.001 i felt like a bloody champion so i know how the lights work ect should be a blast!
Alright, yesterday was a complete success in regards to beating the S13, shat all over him. He is blaming the car, sore loser alright so these were the times i got with 15psi, stock coolers, 2.5" turbo back system, 2 bottles ofoctane booster, 18psi in the tires, indicators out for more cooling ability on the OEM coolers, and spare wheel, jack ect out. was a little nervous but kinda got it in the end i guess lol, will be posting videos up later times arent in order from 1st to last, they got mixed up the first race was the slowest one. Any conductive critisism would be appreciated. all was done was left in drive with power mode on. think a stall converter is in order 1/8th Mile times 200M Reaction:0.157 60FT:2.48 ET:8.735 MPH:83.88 Reaction:0.170 60FT:0.772 ET:8.608 MPH:83.84 Reaction:0.141 60FT:2.156 ET:8.615 MPH:83.88 Reaction:0.540 60FT:2.187 ET:8.762 MPH82.92 Reaction:0.209 60FT:2.092 ET:8.591 MPH:84.2 Reaction:0.370 60FT:2.177 ET:8.716 MPH:83.59 Reaction:0.581 60FT:2.434 ET:9.13 MPH:68.95 Reaction:0.093 60FT:2.169 ET:8.631 MPH:83.78 Reaction:0.554 60FT:2.275 ET:8.745 MPH:84.42 Reaction:0.280 60FT:2.283 ET:8.889 MPH:83.12
8s and 9s are good on the 1/4 mile... Not sure really as I'm unfamiliar with the 1/8. Can this time be extrapolated to a time on the quarter mile? It's good news that you whooped that silvia. You'd have quite the drift bunky if you were racing for slips
It would be hard to interpolate the figures due to each cars different characteristics. Seems like it would be a low 14/high 13 sec pass, but thats just a guess.
To run a 9 sec pass @ 3500lbs 1/4 mile you will need at least 750hp with a perfect set up car and 1100hp to run an 8. Forum member unfairladyZ 's car has enough beans to run 13.2sec quarters going off his 1/8 mile times ..... http://www.warwickdragway.com/#OndoPerformanceCalculators
well thats always good to know cheers pmack, once i have a 3,800 stallie, smic's of fmic, nistune and drag radials on 14" rims.. i should hope to shave a fair bit off of my times thanks for the intrest guys, put up a couple of photos in my garage, sorry guys no burnout pics (no point on street tires in inho)
