What are the chances, of obtaining a ZX to these specifications, or close to it, I am looking for your opinions on the chances of me getting that car, especialy since it is an older car getting it in this sort of condition i would assume would be rare.

    Year: 1993-95
    HARDTOP coup prefered
    Colour: any,
Engine NA): must be all Legal for P's
    Transmission AT
    Interior EITHER,
but if i can get in a Cream or similar color leather that'd be great
    Odometer: Under 100k
with full vehicle history, services, workmanship ect.

    Price: Under $25K

    Comments:

I'm looking for a zx in the near future,8-18 months away, when i will be getting a substantual amount of money coming my way. (which will go to making the car look nice among other things) I have an allmost mythical feeling for the 300zx and i want to obtain a good working one, add a bit to the body, and interior, and use as a weekend car/ in time a show car.

After i buy it i would be having it checked out to be mechanicaly sound and all if any rapairs dealt with, i would add onto the exterior with a complete bodykit, side panels,Hood, ect. the interior i plan to replace all fabric, matching in with a leather interior either existing or that i install, i essentualy want it to be a driving, thriving work of art, something that will get me to smile again and again.

If you sacrifice 3 years from the 'Year' section and the 'Hardtop' part and don't care if the <100,000km is legit you can have mine.

I'll even knock $7,000 off your maximum price.

Considering the amount of money you want to spend I'd say it wouldnt be too hard. There are plenty of outstanding z's on the market right now that aren't selling simply due to the fact that they are priced over $10 000 (even though they are worth far more). For example theres one right here Got pretty much everything you want (must say whoever owned this had absolutely terrible taste - but its nothing you cant fix) and its allegedly ADM so the km's should be correct...

The only problem here is its targa - which is A VERY hard problem to overcome given you want under 100 000km. The only cars guaranteed to have under 100 000 are low km ADM's.... all ADM's are Targa 4 seaters

A while back there was a stunning red '97 slicktop that sold for less than that with low km's, it was imported but k's were meant to be genuine and it definitely looked it

This one could be alright, imported so k's might not be genuine - but its manual

And this - forum member Dave Watson's car, probably your best bet imho.

You might say to yourself that its pretty stupid for me to give you all these links when you wont be buying 8 - 18 months, but high priced Z's (whether good or bad) take awhile to sell...

Unabused or low mileage Slicktops are indeed a rare find.

I actually went hunting for a Zed with those specs (but genuine manual TT) here in New Zealand. Was told approx 3% of Zeds produced are in this configuration.
Gave up sourcing local after 3 years of dissapointments, and subsequently sourced a low mileage example direct from Japan (complying here as a Special Interest Vehicle).

Age will still take a toll despite whatever the mileage reads. Mine apparently sat unused for 7years, But I've since spent 12k in replacing old/original parts in the last year to bring her up to a fresh driving standard. (So I'd say 25k is a reasonable budget to get what you want)

Another bonus being late-1993+ examples are devoid of tweed, and have suede/velour options.

    Keep saving and searching :)

 that has to be the funniest car add I've ever read! He has to be taking the piss, there's no way anyone would actually advertise a care like that! You could import a mint 97 TT model for that price!

heheheh... I'm calling this guy and asking for a $15k discount because of the crap bodykit and mags.

    Import one

For that sort of money, I would looking in Japan for a 1998 stockish zed TT manual with low km's (by low i mean 40-60 thousand genuine kms) you have to find a RAWS whose compliance estimates are reasonable get them to request the import of the vehicle, you will need to organise its purchase and shipment out of Japan and Customs on this side. However for that budget you would have the newest allowable zed in the country with bugger all kilometers on it, it would save you money in the long term as the maintainence would be be bugger all, but with alot of earlier zeds in Au they have been wound back and there is alott of stuff needs changing due to year and tear. It sounds like alot of leg work but im sure there are a few decent operators in this field, pm blipman im sure he will send you in the right direction.

EDIT, just read you want an NA, still get one from Japan, for 10K stock as a rock, get yourself a spare engine that can be rebuild and turbo'ed while you servce your time on your p's, then once your off em drop in a TT.
