Hi all, first off i installed my S2 PTU a few months back and it has run fine til now. It's sounding like my old S1 stuttering and sounding like a WRX! Has anyone seen or heard of an S2 PTU failure? Also it keeps getting error code 21 (primary ignition signal). Is there anything else that could be causing this or is it definately the PTU?? Any help is much appreciated cheers guys!
Did you clean your old connections well? Maybe a combination of vibrations and dirty connectors is why its running rough. Same thing happened to me recently, felt like a dumbass when i realised it was dirty connectors lol. Its an easy fix though. Ive got a spare S2 PTU if you wanna drop round and test it. Bit of a drive though. I'm not sure about error code 21. Can immobilizers cause this?
Yeah, the stock female connectors the plug into either side of the PTU. I used an adapter harness so it was just plug and play. If you had to rewire witht he pigtails, it might be different. Still, I'd unplug it and clean all connectors and make sure its biting properly.
s2 ptu's have failed... might not be the ptu.. like mentioned clean connectors.. not just ptu connectors.
i fixed it for the most part but it still has a little miss... when i get time again i'll try again and update on the situation.
see if anyone near you has a s2 ptu you can borrow.. best way of testing.. swap parts out with known working parts...
