Antenna problem

    hi, i have problem with my radio antenna.
    it extend when i turn on the radio but after few seconds, it retract again and it doesn't come back up until i turn the radio off and on again, but after few second, it's come back down again. any idea why?

    could be a faulty antenna engine? or maybe the wires are faulty and the current isnt turning off once its completely extended. im only guessing though as i have no idea how it works.

    just putting ideas out there.

    how to check it if the motor or the wires are faulty?

    +1 on the techday invite, But to check the flow to the engine you can get Eletrical Multimeter and it will tell you the current reading of the flow and if their are any fluctuations in it. you can pick one up cheap for like $50-100 and they are very handy to have with zed's because of the age of the wiring. As for connectors i would take all of the connectors off and clean them thoroughly to make sure the connection is solid.

    yeah i'm in Lakelands. i'm flying to Indonesia this saturday for 3 weeks, so i will miss out the tech day, but i will PM you when i come back if you don't mind.
