I'm slowly going over the car and changing ALL the bushes with urethane.

Can someone confirm the stock sway bar diameter and do the N/A's run fatter bars? If so would it be a worthwhile upgrade to fit a sway bar from an N/A to a TT.

Not sure about Aus spec cars but JDM NAs have slightly thicker front sway bars than the TTs

26mm front (which I just changed) and 18mm (so Repco tell me) back on 90 NA J spec

Are the rear bars the same between na and TT?

    rockchucker WTF???

I snagged this information from 3ZC and figured it would help this thread out. now I am not sure if it is true for all fo the AUS Spec and JDM stuff but I don't see why they would change it up.

Here is a link to the Thread...

This is the conclusion I came up with to make it a little shorter...

out of interest, i have a 2+2 N/A with 20mm rear sway bar. would it make a diff if any with a TT 26mm sway bar? the 2+2 however is fairly tight as it is with handling

I may be incorrect...but I was under the impression that the 2+0 cars had the thicker sway bar regardless of NA/TT. Don't forget that basically all 2+2 cars in Nth America were NA and the Turbo was the 2 str.

Not 100% sure. There were never any U.S. TT 2+2's, SlickTops or Verts. Only in the T-Top 2 Seater Model. So the Information I posted may not be correct for AUS Spec or J-Spec rigs.

In order to try and add a bit of clarification to this, here's what I understand about the sway bar situation:

    2+2 TT: Front 28mm Rear 26mm
    2+2 NA: Front 28mm Rear 20mm

    2+0 TT: Front 26.5mm Rear 26mm
    2+0 NA: Front 26.5mm Rear 16mm

And not sure about aus spec.

    Have I got this right??

I have a set of standard Aus spec swaybars and a 2+0 NA slicktop in the garage, I don't have anything to measure actual diameter but I'll compare the swaybars and get back to you.

Thanks Peter that would be great. It's starting to do my head in. I've got a 2+2 TT and want to make sure I order the correct bushes. I've jack my car up and check myself but don't have use of both arms for at least a week.

The 26mm Rear sway bar is ONLY fitted to the US TT. The post showing the pics was from the US

I have to get under and check my TT slicktop and see what it came out with now ..

I do remember the rear energy sway bushing from US didnt fit and had to get a new one ...
Just cant remember if it was too big or too small

edit .. just checked my energy bush that didnt fit on rear and its 26mm ...so I must have smaller

I want the US 28mm front and 26mm rear!

Argh! I've got no friggen idea now.
Why the hell does the US always get the better stuff!
Supras are even worse, USDM get bigger cams, brakes, Injectors and better turbos!

Can someone tell me what a Jspec 2+2 TT has??
