NSW 1989 Black 300zx Auto NA 2+2 Blown engine $2,000

Hi guys,

As you know, I'm selling the car I just got due to the blown engine. Wife doesn't want me spending another cent on it, even though I located another engine for it for $850 on gumtree.

Since I can't keep it with a kid on the way, I need to sell it and get a simple family car if possible.

Therefore I'm looking to sell the car, as is, with a blown engine. Everything else is in great condition and it just passed pink slip and rego on the day it blew. However, it has the clear coat on the bonnet coming off as you can see in the picture below, and a section of the bottom of the front bar has been cut to allow more air for the oil cooler.

I guess all that needs to be done is to pull this engine out and drop a new one in, or do a TT conversion, and off you go.

Sad to see if go, but it must be done.

The car has an after market exhaust, sounded awesome and beefy when the car was running, has an oil cooler and an after market radiator. It also has Ferrari tail lights, but if you are not a fan of them, I have a set of stock tail lights you can have too. Also got a good set of spare front wheels.

I'm not too sure what this car would be worth now, but open to offers.

If selling it doesn't pan out too well, I'll look into parting it out, but since I'm not much of a mechanic, don't have tools and don't have space to store parts in my garage, I'd prefer to sell the car as a whole.

Hey mate. REALLY sorry to see you decided to let this go. Don't stress too much. Zed prices are still falling, you may be able to pick up a bargain later on and next time bring along a veteran Zedder who can suss the car out for you so you avoid all the crap you went through just now.

On topic though, all items for sale must have a price in the thread. I know you're not sure how much its worth, but just thought I'd let you know in case one of the Mods removes the thread

Thanks man... yeah its sad... but maybe in a few years time, after some saving, I can get another Zed... bigger and better than this one... and I'll bring back up next time I check out a Zed... or even better, I'll find one here on the forum...

Ahh.... well, it was that low when I bought it... then Pennyarvs and I changed the shocks and springs back to stock, so the height is back to normal... when I bought it, it has cut springs, thats why it was so low... all sorted now..

Sorry for the late reply to this thread, but I swapped the car for a 1998 Holden Commodore, as I needed a family car, plus $500 cash his way. Its not too bad as the Holden has a relatively worked engine, 180kw chip, a few other engine mods, but a standard body, complete with dents and scratches... Lol!

The guy is a young dude, has a skyline and a silvia, and now wants a 300zx. He is going to do a TT conversion, drop in a manual gearbox while he's at it and a few other things. He seems to know what to do and is a mech himself, so he will take car of the car.

Even said he will let me have a drive in a when its done, just to show me what he did. Nice guy...

So I'm Zed-less now... with a family car in my garage... but I will look into getting a better Zed in a few years time, and when I do, I'll be back here...
