    Hi all,

having owned by z32tt for almost a decade now, i have been through more than a dozen batteries because it hasnt been my daily so i thought it was human error as to why my batteries keep dying. BUT now that it is my daily for over a month now the battery still dies WTF. Have since installed a new 5 point grounding kit, stopped using my boomerang alarm, new battery obviously and the bugger still dies after only a few days of not driving/starting the beast.

any suggestions or should i rip out my boomerang alarm system?

You would be better off ripping out the alternator and replacing it with a working one :)

yeah. Dud alternator or something (like a big stereo) putting too much load on it.

How are your lights, air con etc going? Do they work ok?

I would first be checking for a current drain on the battery when everything is turned off. It could be something as simple as the boot light staying on because the switch is not triggering properly

thanks guys, i have since then taken out interior light bulbs both cabin and boot however it still drains my battery. the voltage current is 14.1 is that where it should be?

hey mate, yeah all works well but it does run funny when the aircon has been on for a while on very hot days but i think no zed like the heat ie 35c+ days. is there any other ways to check if the alternator is working properly? car runs very well but just have to jump start it in the mornings.... no big stereo in place... just standard speakers and head unit no amp...

    thanks

An auto electrician can tell if the alternator and battery are good or bad. Even supercheap auto has the gear to tell if it's working.

But with a new battery, it sounds like yr alternator is bust. Plain and simple.

In the old days, I would disconnect the battery while the car is running, the alternator should keep everything running, if not, then it's rooted. Not sure if this works on newer cars though.

yeah thats what i thought but the volt meter is reflecting 14.1v so it should be sweet..... is it possible my alternator is over charging my battery? how do you check if the car is drawing power from somewhere when the car is off? i mean besides the obvious checking all teminals..... i have since disconnected the -ve terminal whilst engine is off and connected the volt meter to detect unwanted draw of current but nothing comes up... WTF im confused.... sigh
