Man, we can probably swap our gas struts first and see if it really is the struts that need replacing or something else...

 

Yeah dude, ur right, but I was just asking incase that was the problem with my boot.

Will try WD-DB on the joints when I can to see if that helps, but if not we'll do the swap to test. Was still thinking it wouldn't hurt getting spare struts like u said. Someone else might be able to use them 1 day if I don't. Lol!

 

Or we can probably use that to install on the bonnet. LOL...

 

Lol! Really? The gas struts from the boot fit in the bonnet too? Lol!

I'm not too fussed about the boot not opening easily. Got more important things to look at, but spare boot struts could be good.

Guess we'll see whats wrong with mine in time. Thanks for the assist

Quick update>>>

Battery box sold to Pennyarvs subject to payment.

Open to reasonable offers for the hatch and struts before separating them if necessary. This hatch is in very good condition and comes complete with wiper and motor, washer nozzle, internal plastic trims, weather strips etc really want to sell this complete.

For any one who buys the hatch I will give them second hand parts removed when I did the 100,000Km service, these are Nissan water pump, thermostat, idler rollers and bearings. all could be used again if desperate.

Also have a set of original Nissan front brake pads. Hardly worn, replaced them with softer pads for Daily driving, the Nissan pads need a fair amount of heat before they start working correctly, so would be good for spirited driving or track work. I had them refaced by Better Brakes so the will fit straight into existing calipers with out problems. $ 15.00 set.
