    Hi all

    I have gone from a twin plate os genkin clutch back to a single plate exedy heavy duty clutch, my z is quite standard hence not running big power nor running much more than standard boost.

    However i keep experiencing a slip in the clutch ONLY when it gets hot, usually when my oil temp is over 85 degrees.

    I have since than changed many other parts such as new pressure plate, clutch slave, clutch master, forks, pins, fly wheel, pivot, and pedal adjusted yet it still slips when it gets hot??? am i missing something???

    if anyone has changed from twin plate to single plate and experienced this please advise,

    Cheers

    Johnny

    New pressure plate ??????

    If you fitted a NEW Exedy HD clutch, why did you have to fit a new pressure plate & flywheel again ?

    Im gathering the twin plate wore out and was replaced with the exedy plate. Without any other new parts. Flywheel and or pressure plate.

    So possibly the new clutch got scored by the worn fly and pressure plate. And now that everything is new, less the scored exedy plate. Its slipping?

    New with old, old with new.

    Not interchangeable....

    None of the OSG twin plate components are interchangeable with a single plate clutch, so ALL of those parts had to be changed when the Exedy was fitted.

    If you adjusted the clutch pedal. Did you undo the switch and back it off?

    I had issues with slipping and then found the clutch was adjusted properly BUT the switch was still stopping the pedal from returning fully and properly disengaging.

    Possibilities for slippage.....

    Reasons for slippage on a new clutch could be :

    * Oil on clutch plate (did you replace rear seal)

    * Pressure plate pressure insufficient

    * Flywheel surface not machined.

    I have an OSG twin plate, and I have loads of slippage problems also.....
