Just got my new leather seatcovers from Exotikleather/Interior Innovations.

First bit of a plug for the person in charge of EL/II, Khalid.

Not only he put up with my huge array of questions he was very quick in replies. On average within 30min. Very professional and helpfull.

Pricing for the kit was very good (even at times i was very sceptical about the the quality for the money, even though he said everything was 100% leather and no substitutes anywhere).
He also told me I should have it within 10-15 days.

To my surprise it arrived 4 days earlier than the expected 10 days deadline.

It was tightly packed in DHL box (got me worried that only half the stuff was there)
But once I opened the package the bits were just unfolding.
Everything that I ordered was there.

As per Khalid's word everything was in real leather. The fresh leather smell quickly took over the house.

Wanted to install it straight away but other commitments forced it for afterhour's adventure in my lounge.

Removed the rear seat and old covers. After approx 2-3hrs the rear seat was done. It fitted really well.

Some parts showed bit of creasing but quickly figured out that my seat sponge has been squashed by the shrinking original leather. Still got to fix few small areas on the rear seat.

Started on the passenger front seat last nite. Done the lower part and it looks awesome. So as the recliner. Still got to do the middle bit and headrest and put the seat back together.

I will add better pics bit later as I complete the front seats.

So far very happy with the covers. as this is my first time ever fitting new leather covers its taking me longer than i thought. Also front seat the vertical part is prob a two person job.Lucky my mate was over and with his help we managed to get a reasonable job. (not bad for couple of amateurs)

Ohh wow, very nice indeed. You've done a very good job.

How much was the kit if you dont mind my asking?

As Amandas leather is in far better condition and what yours were but still a revamp would be nice. Furthermore i have zed seats in my dato ute that are tweed. Black interior with grey tweed sort of work but i would love to blend it better. Albeit dye or these leather replacement kits.

When you're done i might have to come eye ball them if you dont mind.

    More pics ma man!

should have the passenger seat completed tonight and gear/handbrake boots and gearknob handbrake handle all fitted so i take more pics.

won't install it till friday nite. time to give the carpet good clean.

i'm hoping to get it all finished by saturday nite (the front seat take long time to do) for the old S30 meet.

Stick you name on the EOI list Sev. We can't get a final price until we know how many people are in. The more people, the cheaper it gets.

    Thanks guys.

Ill try answer some of the questions and post some more teaser pics.

I have done at least on 3 other occasions removed and refitted the seatcovers. (only removed originals, get them washed and refit, also they were velour)

to answer , "Can u do it yourself?"
    that depends on individual.
i bet most guys that tinker with their zx wouldn't have an issue, so YES.

if u never taken a car appart or a lounge or a car seat and not good at picking up how things work than i say NO. take it to someone that does.

this is my first time working with leather and it is bit more difficult as its stronger material than very strechy velour. u have to strech it over the cushions and u need slightly tougher hands.

i will post more hints and tips on the forum to help future DIY.

hope these pics satisfy the HD picture guys. (sorry for earlier ones, ive been working on these well after midnight and only took quick snapshots with my phone)

once i get it all done and fitted ill take some pics with natural light.

im also going to coat these with leather protector as well to protect them better from our harsh sun (the car is still a daily)

Price: paid less than $700 US posted for the whole kit. If buying seats best to contact Khalid as prices may change depending on what choices u make.

I also took few pics on the installation which i probably post in another thread on "how to replace seat covers" (when i get time) to help few guys out that want DIY.

note: quality of this kit I'm more than happy. :D good work to ExotikLeather/Interior Innovations. Will definetly be buying few more bits down the track.

Khalid if u reading this please do a kit for a Early S30 Datsun 240Z expecialy stitched dash covers u sell it like hotcakes. Also kits for S14,S15 Silvia be nice too...:D

Pretty good if you reeeaaaallly want a leather interior or update and dont have the funds to go pro.
But they still look loose and wrinkley... Did you lay any extra foam underneath to fill them up a bit more?

Good on you for giving it a go.

Leather will come good. After the car has been sitting in the sun, the leather will shrink and the wrinkles will go away.

The cheap crap will stay wrinkly

I did the drivers seat in the convertible last weekend. It is now so much softer and nicer to sit in.

???? Not at all man. Didn't mean it like that what so ever!
I said it looks good. But if it ain't done by a pro, it will not look pro. But good on him for giving it a go, looks good, and saved money too.

Hope that explains it a bit better and hopefully you can see it wasn't Intended with any back handedness...

Looks great. Waiting for mine to arrive. I also found Khalid great to deal with. Answered all my questions and answered each one within 10mins! And was happy to give me a reduced price when I asked. Will be buying more stuff from this seller in the future.

    All cool.

If i had endless supply of money im sure the zx would be new lambo. But i dont so i try and get my 21yo z to look more respectable than it was with money i do have. Plus i like getting my hands dirty even if i could afford a pro Im sure i would still done it myself.next set of seats should be quicker and better.

I didnt put extra foam in the rear seat but did in few places on front. Very difficult. Prob need to sus my pro out for some tips. I know some use heatguns and all sort of special tools. I had pliers screwdrivers and my hands.

Working on the seats 4 days afterhours till 1am i had enough. But can say finally done.

If i had more time/energy/patience i probably can iron those wrinkles out.
But im not fussed. Its a big improvment to what it was.If sun/heat can iron it out its a bonus.

Time for rest, blabing too much nonsense.

    pics tommorow
Btw thanks for the comments guys.
