The time has come for me to sell my Z. Competing priorities, work and house renovations mean that I do not have the time to enjoy her anymore. I imported the car through a broker in Brisbane after waiting five months for the right one. She was a one owner in Japan and has been with me ever since.

I have spent a lot of money on the car, things like leather seats, dash and console, recovered steering wheel from the US, chrome interior door handles from the UK, new speakers, clear LED front and back side lights. Sound deadner from the front seats back was fitted.I have a DVD player in the car and I purchased a replacement one because the DVD was sticking. The new one will be included with the car. A custom made stainless steel exhaust system from the cats back is fitted.










Console now leather covered

I have replaced anything that needed replacing such as the FPCU, aircon compressor, steering rack, front bar, fog lights, rebuilt auto box, fuel pump, etc, etc and of course the 100K service was done and service every 10K after that. The injector connectors were replaced and all electrical connection cleaned and coated to stop corrosion. The rotors have been replaced with slotted ones and new pads and I haven?t really driven it since, and the calipers have been painted in heatproof red and clear.

Mechanically it is stock standard, has not been boosted or anything like that.

The car could use a paint now but is still quite good for everyday use. As the spoiler was starting to fail, I purchased from the UK, two replacement fibreglass spoilers, the ones that are moulded to the car. I have also purchased a custom Strosek front bar which has not been fitted yet. This was to be done when I had it painted. The roof rails and cowls have been refinished in Plasti Dip but I also have a new cowl set which will be included.

For the person that pays the asking price I will include all of the spares I have for the car. Things such as headlights, four factory wheels with good rubber, new silicone turbo and radiator hoses, leather armrests and handbrake boot with red stitching, and a very rare Abflug 320 kph speedo cluster, lighted rear panel, and a spare cargo cover. I am sure there are other special bits that I cannot recall at the moment and these will be included too.




If you want a Zed that has been looked after and not been thrashed, this is the one.

Please do not bother to tell me I can make more selling it for parts, as I don?t have the time. Similarly don?t ask to buy any of the spare parts.

Thanks for the kind words Baz but it has been a decision I have considered very carefully. Many things on the go to achieve our goal to retire in Malaysia in about six years.

I have just remembered that I have a clear third brake light in my parts as well. Try and find one of them now. I also have a set fibreglass headlight inserts as made by Gonzo.

Cairns is a bloody long way to go to look at a car!!

 

I have personally worked on this car and let me assure any considering purchaser that for the money it screams value. The owner is absolutely fastidious with maintenance and just general care for this car and his other one (yes he owned two once upon time).

Sorry to see you part with it Tony, I know how much joy it has brought you.

Greame, if you are going to let this pass by just because of 1800KM then you are missing out big time!

 

Distance should be no barrier to find the perfect Zed.

 

It's not the distance

It's the time. I just can't see anywhere in the near future where I can find the time to go and get it. With the wife working evenings and a least one day on the weekends I'm Mr mum.
Doesn't stop me looking up air fares to Cairns though does it.

 

Sure thing....$8,500 and I'll throw in all the other bits and the car as well...LOL

Karl & Baz thanks for the kind words. I have had a lot of fun with the car and hopefully someone else can continue to have fun with it. There is a s**tload of bits and pieces and I only wish someone was selling one like that when I started.

I have been meaning to say Karl your car looks great in the new colour. You were working on the gauges last time I caught up with you and obviously you managed to get them in. Great job!!!

I should also mention for any prospective buyers of mine that it has HID low beams and also a Motorola bluetooth kit I brought in from the States.

The car is now sold. She is going to a good home where I feel sure she will be well looked after.

Whilst I am now Zedless, this is a difficult addiction to overcome so I feel I will still be visiting the forum from time to time.
