Hey guys, newbie member here, and the proud new owner of a 1997 300ZX Z32 2+2 TT (converted from N/A as we speak)

My question for you guys has anyone bought a car from JSA?

Japanese Sports Auto are located at 212 Bell St. Preston, VIC and 20 Cope St. Preston, VIC. These guys are Japanese car importers, and from what info I have found, they appear to be one of the best in Australia...

The reason I am asking this, is currently I am deployed to Afghanistan (home in 16 days after 9 months) and although I own the car now, I have never actually seen it in the flesh...

Jast wanted to know if this guy has a good/bad/unknown reputation...

To be honest, this guy has been very amazing for me, and has helped me out so much...and this sort of scares me a bit coz he is a used car dealer, and I am waiting for something to go horribly, horribly wrong...

Maybe it's my pessimistic side coming out, but after reading through so many of the existing posts here, through numerous threads, I can see you guys really like to help one another out with honesty.

Any rating on JSA would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Ill :)

Not sure about the place mate but you may want to double check the year. iv only heard of one 1997, very rare i think. If it is, well done :)

LOL...took me 3 months of trolling through web-sites and carsales.com.au to find this beauty...

From what I have seen, the car was only recently imported from Japan and is currently undergoing compliancy (as well as a full respray in blood red and kits, rear wing etc...)

first up, get JSA to provide you with the VIN number .... then post that up here asking for a member to check "NISSAN FAST" for you ... this will enable the actual build date to be established ....

Hey man i wasn't shooting you down :) Just dont want you to be diddled by someone. You said youv been in afghan for 9 months, spent 3 months trolling the net and you havnt seen the car in person.

Depending on its condition and the array of variables im hoping you paid 10-20k for it.

but like baz said, post up the number and someone will check it for you :)

Getting a bunch of add-ons, including a full respray, engine bay included, custom rear lights, HID headlights, F40 style rear wing, TT conversion from N/A and a new front bar. It already had aftermarket exhaust and suspension on it...
    Total cost is $22,050

    Done :)

And don't worry, my forum pain threshold is exceptionally high :)
There aint nothin' you can say that will freak me out :)

Shouldnt the VIN look something like this?

    JN1RZ24H2PX536574

    10th digit being a 'P' = 1993

    ? im confuzzled

    edit:
im looking at this chart thing. The letter assigned to 1997 is 'V' on the 10th digit.

Hey mate. I'm heading up to Preston possibly on Sunday to visit a mate. He's staying in a serviced apartment literally a few hundred metres away from JSA. Do you want me to look at the car for you? PM me if needed.

    Stay safe in Afghanistan.

If it is being imported directly then 1996 or 1997 are actually the years you are most likely to get as I gather there are more cars from those years that can be complianced. I looked into this with J-spec for a while recently, getting a really nice 96 or 97 TT imported and complied was going to cost me somewhere in the $16-$18k range.

Regarding JSA I looked at some of their cars (quite a few years ago now mind you) and they seemed really really dodgy and their cars in stock were very poor and expensive. That being said, if they are importing a car for you then the condition has more to do with what car they buy over there than what they actually do themselves and they should be able to find you a really nice car for that price even if they are taking a big profit for themselves.

Hopefully it will all be good and you'll have a great car, worst case scenario put on a good barbecue and some drinks and you'll have plenty of people from here all over your car and have it sorted out in no time!

First of all welcome to the forum. If you stick around you'll find it an incredible resource (Tech Section) and the knowledge of many of the members with regard to these cars is nothing short of vast. Along with this they are usually only too happy to help out. When you get back come along to some of the cruises as a goods fun social event, and tech days to learn more about your car and to fix issues you are having. Just a word of warning with your import, it is very common for body kits and paint to be applied to cars that have been in accidents to disguise damaged areas. Be aware also that body kits do devalue these cars and reduce your resale value dramatically. The more modified they are the less you will get for them. Hope some of this helps and you end up with a great Z :zlove:.

    Welcome to the forum!:zlove:
You should have been asking this question BEFORE you signed on the dotted line with JSA! :p:p........as one of the original founders of this great forum Ben (Blipman) would have probably been able to source you a great Z via J-Spec Imports from Japan!

I don't know anyone who has bought a Z from JSA, but like Peter Black I have often had a wander through their yard to look at the Z's - & if I'm completely honest I agree with Pete! - generally VERY average condition AND very overpriced! - nothing I would have personally even considered buying! :(

But I hope for your sake you prove me wrong! ;)
Good luck & keep us posted!
Post up some pics when you can so we can all see your new baby! :zlove::zlove:
