Well you definitely went about things the hard way :p not that its entirely your fault though ;) Being a uni student, i feel your pain money wise and props for sticking with it. One thing that will be interesting is to see how the car performs with a TT rear subframe...

How long have we been responsible for where Nissan put the engine number? Your road worthy guy is just lazy.

Always pays to do a bit of research on a road worthy place before you go there. Some are just arseholes who reckon they will get work if they pick the ass out of your car.

Mind you, A lot of the stuff you should have checked first dude. Prepare to pass an inspection, not fail.

    Good luck with round 2

Whoa! what the hell is this shit? I thought we were pretty amicable on the phone and I had agree'd to compensate you for the damage as soon as you sent me proof of the extensive rust damage. You said you were hard up for money so I transfered you through $350 to see you through some of the repairs you said needed to be done straight away and you said you would get better pics that friday, then after friday came round you said you would do it a week later but stopped calling after that.
I had told you the car had been taken over the Osborne Park pits here and had failed for all the items listed in the for sale ad, I also provided you with all the original documentation showing why it had failed, there were no tricks or dodgy practices on my behalf. I had bought the car when it had already had the panels replaced and I just replaced the suspension components on the front for good measure. I had explained to you it was a car that I didn't have a lot of time for because i had my daily and another project car so you sent your brother out to have a look at it and I also sent you a lot more pics than were in the for sale ad.

I don't belive that the rad had silicon holding it together, I was able to drive it on temp passes and to os park from my place and then to the depot to drop it off, theres no way silicon would have held up to those pressures and I had a spare PWR rad to suit an N/A sitting in the shed that I would have swapped in had I thought there were any issues there.

You also claimed you had overheated the zed but continued to drive anyway and wanted me to pay for the repair costs, and that Bryan had been able to diagnose the head gasket had blown 1cm away from the oil gallery without even removing the heads and that you were able to fix the blown head gasket by re-tourquing the heads

You also wanted me to pay for extensive rust damage that was all through the chassis and told me it had been repaired, but now according to this thread you never ended up doing it.

The car was written off as an economical write off, which in WA is not a big deal and heaps of cars, especially cars with expensive parts are written off because the insurer decides it will be cheaper than repairing it. if the car was not in repairable condition it would have had a statutory write off, where it cannot be re-rego'd. I had told you it was hit by a small 4wd but the damage wasn't major, which it wasn't.

I find it very hard to believe that the car was so badly damaged but I didn't pick up on problems and the guys at the pits only gave me the faults listed on the report

And I haven't been on the forum much as I've been working on site where internet access and my free time is pretty limited, but you've got my mobile number and you also know how to PM me but you've done neither

What the ****? You have my mobile number and also could have PM'd me but you did neither! It was brand new so obviously I hadn't tried it but it was sold to me as suiting nissans. If it wasn't suitable I would have given you the $20 back

Epic story. Dont want to see this turn into a flame event though. For myself I wouldn't want to be caught buying a car at the level of $5000 without seeing it first, I would only imagine quite a few issues to work out. Lucky for me my first rusty 260z purchase turned out smooth with donations from my friends 260z spare parts and extra $$ from parents just for new set of tires with some elbow grease to sort things out.. Was a great introduction to car repairs though befoer jumping up to the z32

I?m usually where the car is 1 day a week and only get to spend around 3 hours there to do the work on it that i?m capable of doing. Sent 12 photos to your mobile, you said only 1 came through so I sent as many as I could through an email, but wasn?t enough. Told you I was going to send more photos of the car for you but didn?t get there that weekend. Will post a photo of the rust on the shell on Saturday night if I get out there to show everybody how bad it was. Stopped calling all the time as it was taking so long to get anything organised as I was only with the car to see it once a week and generally took you around 2-3 days to reply to anything I sent. Cost of fixing the rust and engine work was quoted at 2 grand, I told you that I thought it was as much my fault as it was yours so said we would go halves with it. Still took time for you to get back to with what was going on with money so said just give me 700 and ill sort the rest out. At the time I knew nothing about engines so had to pay full price to get the work done for me.

You told me the car had gone for the roadworthy and had failed on the items in the add and since then you had fixed everything except for the wheel alignment, I have that on writing from you in my inbox. You told me it had been in minor accident where front passenger guard had been slightly dinted but replaced and all was okay. An economical write off or repairable write off is the same thing and takes extensive testing and checks to get re registered. It is a legal requirement to let the buyer know if you are selling a car that has been written off no matter what, I would have made you take the car back and give me money back but seeing as though it was on the other side of Australia it wasn?t worth the hassle. After talking to a friend who is a lawyer, I had every right to sue for the money I had outlayed for the car and a very strong case, but I was unable to because for receiving the 350 from you, not that I would have gone that way as would have been way too messy and take too much time for me.

Yes I told you that the rust had been fixed because that's what I was under the impression that had happened, however when I went back and looked at the car 2 weeks later I saw that it hadn?t been done yet. A week later I decided to go about getting a shell so there was no point in getting the rust done when I only had around 250 in the bank.

The mechanic you went too must not have looked over the car properly if I was able to unscrew all the suspension bolts with my hands?

If there is still any queries to what I have said or you still do not believe me, I have 7 forum members who have seen the car and are willing to back me up and also 3 guys who are not members who have been over the car who would be willing to back me up.

If you couldn't get to the car then thats your issue, I was not going to send you money based on you telling me the car was completely ****ed when I had not found problems and neither had the pit inspectors, I sent you $350 plus another $50 from bryan in good faith waiting for proper evidence of the alleged damage. For whatever reason not all the MMS pictures you sent through worked so i asked you to email them to me. All the ones you emailed came through but none of them showed significant rust, 90% of Z32's have a rusty battery tray.

And that is true, all the items on the list except the wheel alignment were done, i went through the list with your brother

No I said it had been hit by a small 4wd but the damage didn't go to the bonnet, and that the front bar and guard, as well as all the suspension components on that side had been replaced, and I always use a rattle gun so I don't know where all this finger tight bullshit came from

In victoria maybe, in WA it's a bit more expensive for the initial inspection and you have to take it to a more specialised inspection center, but i had already done this, if the car was in WA the buyer would have just had to get the alignment done and pay the re-inspection fee, I had booked in the alignment but i was getting stuffed around by a prospective employer and my plans kept changing. I am not responsible for checking on requirements for interstate rego.

Even when you had bought the red shell you told me the old shell had been fixed by bryan and cost you a lot of money
