Hey guys.. I flushed out my radiator a couple weeks ago and did not start the car to refill the radiator again like a dickhead!! It resulted in the car overheating a few days later. I put water in the radiator and I could fill it up all day long, meaning there was a leak.. I found the leak coming from the back of the engine bay. It is leaking green coolant!! Has anyone had this problem and if so, where is the coolant leaking from? Could it be a hose at the back of the bay? I have it booked into the mechanic tomorrow.
It sounds like it is probably coming from one of the heater hoses they are located behind the engine and not fun to replace.
It can be done with the engine in but im not sure if you have to take the plenum off to get to them. I did mine while the plenum was off but from the amount of room there is to work with back there i doubt i can be done without removing the plenum.
I replaced mine without taking the plenum off. It's a bit of a bitch but can definitely be done. If they are just leaking because they are loose then simply tightening the clamps should not be too difficult. - Mike
Ive taken the car to my mechanic and he said the heater hoses have splits in them.. He said dont worry about putting new hoses in just put bungs in because i dont use the heater anyway coz i live in darwin. What u guys reckon?
Cheers mark ill buy the bungs tomorrow and get them put in asap.. Ill bung up pretty much anything i wont use.. Im also wondering if taking off the heat shielding on the exhaust is a good thing??
