it is a very early dyno run since i got all the gears in. mod list: auto gt28r 0.64 3" dump back fmic apexi pod gizzmo ibc (playing up. i have disconnected the stock boost soleniod, but still cant go past stock boost level. wrong ebc setting?) afr is around 11 was a bit disappointed after seeing Jaz's stock auto zed pulling 192rwkw@10psi, incredible!! boost leak test will be next, the udp will be in soon. and surely looking for bigger injectors, then a tune.
different dynos will also show different results, but as stated those turbos arent even spinning at that boost level.
Lots of sorting needed....... I can't blame you for being disappointed with those numbers. I remember a dyno day with a couple of stock auto tt's putting down around the 180-190rwkw.
seconded. those 28R turbos flow a lot more air than stockies, so even at 8.5psi, you're probably on the equivilent of stock turbos running ~13psi or more.
Sorry dude!! Baz was suggesting a leak test for you car later in the day. Cheers Ads PS. At least you don't back into shit!!
Oh no not again, flow vs boost............and SMIC's are better than FMIC's..... My head is still spinning from the last thread this was so vigorous contested!!!
I think you need to crank it to at least 15psi! What was your reason for running such low boost? I ran about 18psi on the streets.
Not to worry The E-vade has the same turbos, with a little different setup on the pipework. I do have forge internals (these do not generate power), but heads are stock with auto cams. I have a laptop full of tunes, and this tune has run a best of 245rwKw and the low was 208rwkw (yesterday). I am not concerned about that peak reading, as it is the mid-range torque that counts for the road. I wanted to see that smooth power curve with losts of fat power down low. and, it wasn't there. I have issues too... It was set at 10psi yesterday. and noting you power level you are about right. It could be as simple as the dyno or a more complex equation. Such as the ECU pulled boost out on the second run due to intake temps rising (my intercoolers were not getting any air flow, peaked at 70degrees ). However, it was a brilliant setup shame it is a long way away for me. However there is always room for improvement. As i found with mine, the tuning is the key issue for me. However yours might be easier to resolve. Check for leaks, especially in sensor lines. You gaps are a little small for that boost level, and I suspect you timing could be advanced alot. Welcome to the world of motoring perfection. Faster and Faster until you run out of money or talent.
Maybe a silly question, but would it be worth stocking the engine a little just to see how it goes? Like remove EBC, BOV's, etc? Temporarily of course!
you still have stock boost control solenoids???... what actuators did u put on your turbos. sound like stock ones ... oh dear
My old stock actuators started to open @ 4psi and were open before 9psi. my guess is they're set to operate like that.
