Hi, my friend told me that there is something called a HICAS eliminator kit which if i get would improve my handling and steering of my car. I dont know anything about this so i was wondering if this would fit and work on my 92 non turbo zed?

lol that's not the only way to improve steering and handling? What have you got on your zed already?
There's coilovers, strut braces, swaybars, adjustable arms, the list goes on...

I know of coilovers but they qre quite costly (around 1gz) and the rest im unsure how much they would cost because if its something reasonable i do not have to save up for then i might be able to get it asap

Well coilovers/shocks/springs I reckon make one of the most significant improvements to handling... If you're gonna buy good quality stuff they're gonna be pricey.
Eibach springs on KYB shocks are a good combo (I've got em and so do many others here) and are more affordable than coilovers. The Eibach springs are progressive rate too, which would be more comfortable for daily driving than coilovers.
Have you had a look at Z1 & Coz?

Removal of the 4 wheel steering - Hicas does not improve the handling. Rather the opposite even if that is debatable.

Problem with Hicas is that it works differently at different speeds and even then not fully reliable. I tested mine before I removed it and found that it failed to cut in 20% or so of the time.

You can get a bit of a shock if you are going through a curve flat out and suddenly the Hicas cuts in and starts steering your rear wheels.

Ive probably driven as many zeds as anyone ont his forum and i have never had a situation wehre the hicas cut in or out or did something i didnt want it to do.

remember it only operates between 20 and 70mph and has a max movement of 2.5 degrees i think.

people who have stacked zeds and blamed it on hicas or said that it makes the rear end sloppy is just bullshit.

I have have experienced this many times at up to 100km/h and didnt like it at all.

Only recently deleted hicas with my suspension upgrade and its so much better without. How it should be.Direct feel

It comes down to peoples driving style to whether it affects them or not.

    Totally agree.
Ten+ years of driving my Z32(w/HICAS)on all manner of winding roads, at a wide range of speeds, has never given the slightest indication of sub-standard handling or any unexpected changes in road-holding.

First rule of accident reporting: ALWAYS blame something other than driver error.

I like HICAS, and I dont get why people remove a special feature of our cars. I don't drift and if I did I wouldn't risk my car anyway.

I thought HICAS only switched on after 80km/h?

Fact or Fiction?...The previous owner of my 89 TT said he did not like HICAS and all he did was pull a plug off the HICAS unit which prevented it from working.

I have just renewed the shocks and struts, replaced all the worn joints and put a set of Adrenalins on. Thing steers like a skateboard. I would not think of doing anymore nor do I think I need too.

Also never had an issue with the HICAS.

Thanks for the replies guys...i looked into suspensions parts and i saw several items. I installed KYB struts (non adjustable) and i am thinking of buyimg a full suspension set which includes camber, toe, tie and pretty much everything. I looked on ebay and i found quite a few products for reasonable prices. If anybody knows where i can get parts for the same or cheaper price than ebay please let me know. Thanks.

Beware of ebay suspension parts for z32 as many are substandard. Check the for sale sections too great prices on some things.

I like hicas. Just wish it worked more often in carpark speeds.
