Hey I found a really cheap urethane version of the greddy gracer front bar that i want to get. It comes from a place called andy's auto sport which i think is located in america somewhere. but the front bar is soo cheap.. under $300 here's a link http://www.andysautosport.com/nissan/1990_1996_300zx/exterior/body_kits/kbd/ Has anyone had any experience dealing with this company? Do they provide quality products? and most importantly has anyone bought this exact greddy front bar from them before? Thanks
Postage might be a killer. Would pay to get a firm all up price 1st. Is this like it ?. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Bomex-front-...=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51930dc35a cheers dave
from wat i no it is bomex... atleast thats wat it was called when i had mine a lil wile ago.. but the ebay one will be fibreglass
Was planning to put a post up about this one asking if anyone's dealt with the seller, 'cause I was planning on getting it. Messaged him saying it was GReddy, but he didn't reply. The dude relists them everytime they're sold, so don't bother bidding against anyone unless you're on a time restraint.
postage would be a killer. and see if u can get how low it hangs... the greddy original bar hangs pretty fkn low. the uas do a copy in fibreglass as i have on my car and it has been hightened by 20mm...
Bomex Type 1 (ebay seller), Greddy and UAS..... aren't they all virtually the same looking, apart from the additional venting on the UAS bars in front of the wheel arches? Have the Ebay seller Bomex T1 fitted to my TT. 1. Had to shave 10mm bended lip from the top of REO bar, and remove foam on front. 2. Inner Top Lip of centre air hole didnt extend far back enough to scew mount to REO. 3. Bottom lip and sides of centre air hole had to be trimmed back for FMIC 4. Bottom outer air holes had to be trimmed back for FMIC piping. 5. Mounting points for bolting to front guards had fibreglassed bolt mounting points in wrong position (thinner glassed area where bolts were actually located) 6. Final mounting showed bar didnt sit level. Had to be unbolted from guards and rotated forward, creating extra gap between guard and bar join that required extra filling. 7. Kamakazi Bunny #1 cracked drivers side. 8. Kamakazi Bunny #2 cracked passenger side.... the next day. Of course, FMIC is optional, and mounting of cooler will affect the fitment of the bar. Mine was mounted as far back as physically possible- no modifications of REO bar required for clearance and POD had to be rotated till it was vertical.
oops... forgot 9. Check that your front corner park/blinker combination lights slide in easily before you paint. At that point, remove it once, and refit perfectly the first time. The fibreglass that the inside of the fittings slot into is shite also..... and the holes where the screws are supposed to mount through is matched Definitely get what you pay for.... and suicidal bunnys target fibreglass
so in other words, it's rubbish? UAS it is... urgh. GReddy and UAS are the same, the "speed holes" on the sides are optional on both. Bomex is pretty different.
I've got that one on mine. Was ok., but yes the rear most holes are in the wrong spot, the indicators were a bit tight. I have a different reo bar, so not sure how well that would've gone. For the money it's ok. The UAS ones aren't really any better, any fibreglass bar will need work to fit perfect.
bomex GReddy they both have a big mouth but have different sides for the "speed holes" see: benny's car
G'day, If anyone decides they like this bar (or any other from the states) and think the postage is going to kill them, I can arrange to bring it over from the states cheap! A price for forum members would be $150 AUD + G.S.T. I am sure we can help with other items too. Feel free to contact me - parts@usatoaus.com - and mention you saw this on the forum about these bars.
