    What are hub rings ?

I've been asked "What are hub rings " ?

Brief answer : Hub rings are used for the correct fitting of aftermarket wheels.

Oem wheels have the correct size hole in the centre of the wheel to EXACTLY fit the hub. This is critical, as it centres the wheel and takes load off the wheel studs.

Aftermarket wheels are made with an oversized centre hole so they can fit multiple cars with the addition of the appropriate hub ring. Think of them as reducers, adapting the centre hole of the aftermarket wheel to fit the factory hub.

Most performance wheels out of Japan have a 73.1mm centre hole, and the hub rings I'm selling are manufactured to be used to fit these wheels to a 300ZX.

If you have any more questions, drop me a PM.

If you go to a wheel/tyre place and buy and have them fit a new set of wheels, should they be fitting these rings?

    The answer to your question......

is, Yes..... if you buy new wheels from a business, they SHOULD be supplying the appropriate hub rings.

Whether they do or not, is another question. When you consider the dozens of different possible combinations in hub rings to suit the vast array of cars/wheels out there, most businesses just couldn't be bothered carrying them  The best I've ever come across is the occasional tyre place that might have a handful of mixed hub rings kicking around, which you have to sort through and hope you can find what you want.

Also, the average, everyday person doesn't know they exist..... let alone realise the safety aspect of using them. So if the business doesn't supply them, the customer is "none the wiser"
