Silly to have to by it from Z1. Means we pay freight to the US and then freight from the US. Need someone who wants one to organise a group buy direct with the manufacturer.

Hmmm well, we should probably gauge how much interest there is for this bar given we can see what the costs are like. z1 says the type II bar ( the one with diffuser) will cost USD$724 + 140 to 180 for shipping TO CONTINENTAL US  . Please note I am not organising the GB, just want to see how many people want one. I don't even know how to contact TwinZ

They look great but $1200+ for fibreglass - the money looks far better in my wallet IMO. If they were urethane - I might be more tempted! By the time you fit and paint it your prolly up for about another $500 on top of this.

Give it 12 months and the novelty will die on these and they will be on eBay for nix. By which time everyone will have one and there wont be anything unique about them. I would rather pay someone $1200 to make me a tasteful custom one off - that is different to everyone else.

direct from the manufacture sounds like a good idea, but it could end up like the mofo smic debacle. So who in their right mind would willingly expose themselves to the ridicule that follows unforseen-manufacturing delays or slow shipping. Apart from that the price is high and we have no idea of the products quality, except there word for it.

As it stands $100 to Z1 for deposit and you have 3-5months to save up to purchase when ready .

All bumpers will be shipping from the U.S. as we plan to import a container load of them and then ship them back out individually. We have not figured shipping costs yet to international destinations, and will not be able to quote that for quite some time as we do not have weights and box dimensions yet.

What about sharing shipping to a single address and then shipping from said address to other addresses.
ie. Someone from Vic or Sydney getting them shipped there and then reshipping them to other states (like SA :D hehe)
I imagine that you'd be able to fit 3 in a box about 120-130% bigger than a box for just 1.
    Your thoughts? :p

haha damn.. $685! I emailed Z1 asking them about this as well.. and yeah estimated $685.. although they said they can't be completely sure yet as they don't actually have any in stock (so they don't know the weight and exact size etc..). But damn... that's a lot. Any way to get these cheaper would be awesome..

Update from Z1, taken from tt.net

"Just letting everyone know where we are on the pre-order for the rear bumpers. We are going to be moving forward with the order, and sales of the Type II bumper have been very solid. The Type I however has fallen far short of requirements. I'm awaiting a reply from TwinZ now regarding the availability of a small number of Type I bumpers to accomodate the couple of preorders we do have for those.
Today is the final day to get in on the preorder and it is also the final day to lock yourself in at the current advertised prices. All bumpers sold that were not preordered will be $50 more than the preorder price. If you're on the fence about getting one today is the day to go ahead and make your preorder, get on the list, assure yourself of getting a bumper on this shipment and save $50 in the long run.

In case anyone is wondering of the exact numbers, as of 10:30 AM today we have 42 preorders.

Thanks again to everyone who has made their deposits, and I remind you once again that if you want one today is the day to make your deposit and get on the list"

Is anyone else on the list ;)
