    Hello family :)

Just a quick question regarding the fan clutch, I am wondering if it possible/easy to remove without pulling the radiator.

I haven't thought too much about it, but I figured if I start a thread about it I may be able to acrue a few tips and tricks about it from the seasoned pros :)

Pretty sure they're 27mm bolts, four in number, attached to the water pump pulley or something along those lines.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated guys 'n' gals!

Here's hoping I just have to take off the top fan shroud [TIS]

    Cheers,
    Tom :zlove:

27 mm bolts:bash:, i was going to say this isnt rocket science, maybe it is lol

Awkward to get off with rad still in
If you leave the radiator in you risk skinning your knuckles and damaging the radiator with the socket drive

1/take bottom hose off (save coolant if you are a tightarse)
    2/take top hose off
3/remove overflow hose off from the radiator neck
    4/unclip bottom part of shroud
5/remove radiator(top shroud comes out with radiator),id like to see you get the shroud off without radiator removal
    6/undo 4 bolts,i think they are 10mm,voila youre done
    refit in reverse process
    7/ refill with tectaloy gold
    8/ bleed it properly
    9/ put cap on :)

if youre smart, piss off the crap bottom hose and fit with a hard alloy one

thread can now be locked ;)

I've had the fan off plenty of times while leaving the radiator in place. My radiator is a pwr thick one too. The hardest part is getting the shroud out but it's not that hard really. Its a pain in the ass dropping the coolant everytime that's for sure.

Just take off bottom engine cover, then lower shroud.
Then upper shroud bolts. Then wiggle the shroud up and out the top. It gets stuck on a few things and needs to be flexed a bit. The fan is 4 10mm nuts. Bobs your uncle.

i have done it many times with the radiator in place. i unbolt the shroud from the radiator and then i can stick my arm through the gap between the shroud and the radiator and take the fan blade off first (4 x 10mm bolts) then undo the 4 nuts on the viscous clutch and take it out.
if you do need to remove the shroud then unclip the lower section of the shroud and remove the upper radiator hose.

I did it just the other day with everything in place. I found the best method was the attack it from the passengers side and used my small socket set. Also helps if you have a second set of hands to hold the fan blade. Mind you I did this on my na so probably a bit more space than a tt...
