    General Fumoto Valve Information:
The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve simply replaces your standard sump plug to allow for mess-free draining of oil. The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve is Lifetime Guaranteed against defects and features a double-action release mechanism so it cannot be accidently opened.
Install this valve and you can drain your engine oil without tools and without mess. Just lift the lever of this solid brass ball valve and give it a quarter turn to open it. Return the lever to its original position and it locks closed, double sealed to prevent leakage.
The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve is made of corrosion resistant forged brass and stainless steel. The ball valve design provides a straight flow for efficient drainage and a perfect seal when closed. Frozen drain plug and stripped threads are eliminated forever. Drawing samples for oil analysis is as easy as one-two-three.
    ? Easy, once-only installation
? Costs less than a bottle of quality oil
? No more contact with hot oil
    ? No more mess
? No more struggling overtightened drain plugs
    ? No more stripped threads
    ? Release oil when hotter
? No more replacing crush washer (A new nissan crush washer represents ~20% of the cost of a Fumoto valve)
? Easy to take oil samples
    ? Easily correct over-filling
? Forged brass and stainless steel
? Approved by six major auto manufacturers in Japan
? Used by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) worldwide (Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru and Isuzu).

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
    Q. Is my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve going to leak?
    A. No. The "ball valve" design of your Engine Oil Drain Valve is just like the design of valves used in pressurised gas applications. Every valve is constructed to exacting specifications and each and every valve is tested for air tightness before it leaves the factory. The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve has been tested and granted "Genuine Part" status by six major motor vehicle manufacturers in Japan. These approvals were not granted easily and gaining them was a testimony to the quality and durability of the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve.

    Q. Will my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve open up while I am on the road?
    A. No. The valve's simple but effective locking system requires two distinct actions to open it and its heavy-duty construction will withstand any engine vibration. Over 2,500,000 Fumoto Oil Drain Valves have been sold in the past nine years and no problems have been reported.

    Q. Does my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve protrude into the interior of the oil pan and prevent full drainage of my engine oil?
    A. The threaded oil drain plug hole is always reinforced to accept the threaded bolt of the drain plug. Your Engine Oil Drain Valve will not significantly extend past this threaded portion of the drain hole.
The any remaining oil is negligible in relation to what is left in the top of the motor and other areas within the engine.
Additionally, your Fumoto Oil Drain Valve will allow you to drain your engine oil whilst it is hotter and thinner, giving better drainage, all without burning your hands.

    Q. How long will my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve last?
    A. Your Fumoto Oil Drain Valve is constructed of corrosion resistant forged brass and stainless steel.
To gain the approval of motor vehicle manufacturers, it was subjected to -40°C temperature, endured 336 hours of salt spray, thousands of openings and closings and still functioned perfectly. You can expect your Fumoto Oil Drain Valve to outlast your engine.

    Q. How much does the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve stick out from the oil pan?
    A. The Drain Valve for passenger cars and light trucks is approximately 20mm thick. In its closed position the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve extends from the oil pan only about 10mm more than a standard oil drain plug. Many drain holes are angled, so the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve does not protrude significantly in the vertical direction.
The sump pan is generally not the lowest part of the vehicle.

    Q. How long has the Fumoto Valve been around?
    A. The Fumoto Valve has been selling worldwide for over 20 years.
This in itself shows its reliability and performance.
Primarily used in heavy industry, it is only recently that the Fumoto Valve has been marketed to the general public.

Do you have any examples of people that have used it without problems? Looking for real-world usage, not just marketing hype :)

Other than 'marketing hype' I have not met someone who has used the valve.
That being said, If this valve design can hold pressurized GAS at pressures up to (and exceeding) 500 PSI, then I have no difficulty believing that it can handle oil at ~110 degrees.

The valve has been approved as original manufacturer equipment (OEM) by a number of vehicle manufacturers, so is definately durable.
The item will be individually invoiced to all buyers, and comes with a full lifetime warranty (as per website http://www.fumoto.com.au/index.htm )

I have one on my zed...

It has been there for about 2 years now. No problems. It does not leak and has never opened by itself. It really is a lazy man device, but instead of having to buy a crush washer each time I change the oil, I just flick the valve and the oil comes out. No fuss, no mess.

That's a definite YES for me! Great innovation as I'm more into the "more frequent oil change" system rather than buying an ultra high quality oil and changing every 10,000k's...

They should modify the design so that you can attach a hose and drain straigt into a bottle.

As I mentioned, the supplier is quite happy and willing to supply a full tax invoice for warranty claims to every participant of the Group Buy. These have a lifetime warranty.

There is a nipple option available, but thinking ground clearance may be an issue, as it doubles the 'length' of the plug. I'm unsure of the design in the past, but the oil flow is straight thru on these valves, so flow will be directed straight into your catch bucket. That's the simplicity of it. Hoping to keep this GB simple and efficient with one type of valve at the moment.
