Whats the average price for a tune, need to fix my A/F ratios running wayy to rich and melting my cats
Why is it running rich for? Sounds like you have another problem that should be fixed first. Only tune a car that is running right to start with. So correct fuel pressure, no boost leaks, sensors all working, everything adjusted properly. You don't want to end up like yellow300zx with a busted engine As for price, from a few hundred to upwards of $1k depending on who does it etc.
Meh, my engine was already on its way out like everything else from that TT conversion lol But yeah lsiten to Chrispy, wish I knew as much as him about zeds
you can list your mods and then ring around to get a quote. different setting different car different price
agree with chrispy. sounds like you have other issues, the factory tune will not cause the problems you described. are you coming to the tech day this weekend? I can bring by datascan program to check your ecu for codes. i am guessing that it would be something related to fuel pressure regulator or maybe dodgy injector seals though. give us a better description of whats wrong.
Yea il try to make it, Ok my car is a 1990 Jap spec NA auto with 152000 K's, i did a plenum pull not to long ago and replaced: Oil preasure sender unit Temp sensor and ACC connector harness AAC (IACV) and air regulator connector Coolant (ECU) temp sensor and coolant gauge temp sensor S2 PTU Upgraded to Koyo 2 row radiator Injector connectors Coil connectors Plenum gasket Balance tube O rings Air regulator/ AAC valve hose kit & PCV Hose kit (there was a bit of oil in the old ones) Fuel filter I also have a Apexi pod And my knock sensor is relocated like in the tech article. I ran the freeware Conzult and i got code 55, car drove fine the cat overheat light wasnt coming on or anything, then a couple weeks later i had my 2.5 HKS catback exhaust fitted i noticed when i got home there was a bit of white smoke coming out. And now the cat overheat light comes on I was thinking maybe because theres more airflow going through the A/F ratios are out of place
are you sure that the cats are actually overheating? maybe the exhaust shop damaged one of the wires and it could be setting off the overheat light. what's your fuel consumption like? white smoke just after fitting exhaust is usually just chemicals burning off. does it still smoke at all? if you are coming to the tech day on saturday then i can check it on datascan. I will bring a fuel pressure gauge if i can find it.
The car reeks of fuel, n maybe 300km max on a full tank of 98. But it doesnt smoke. You can physically see and feel the heat coming of the cats Yea il try to make it
i noticed that theres a leak from fuel pressure regulator hose the one going into the rails, could this mean my regulator is faulty?
Hey man, nice to meet you at the tech day yesterday Try putting your camera into macro mode (little picture of a flower) and take the shots again. They're a bit fuzzy
nice meeting you too man hope you got all you suspension done, By inkar, shot with u40D,S500,uD500 at 2010-01-23 By inkar, shot with u40D,S500,uD500 at 2010-01-23
Good chance. For the sake of $30 or whatever a second hand one costs, I'd change it. Also check all your fuel line clamps, they can work themselves loose over time.
