Shift Boot: Time taken - 2 hours Materials - piece of black leather from tannery ($8.80) and mum's sewing machine yeh yeh! I had to have 2 goes at this because I stuffed the first one up (luckily I had enough leather left for a second one). Anyway, pretty happy with the result! Yep that's a Z i tried to sew on there... Headlights Clean and Paint Time taken - a while! Materials - Hair dryer, silicone sealant, some tools and band aids for the cut fingers A hair dryer works pretty well do to this. What I did was, slowly pried a bit open with a small flathead screw driver and kept heating all the edges until the whole thing came off. The only problem was with the first headlight where I applied too much pressure before heating and the glass got damaged (hence the cut) it was only around the edges so it didn't really do much. I painted the assembly black to suit the body colour which worked pretty well! Here's some pics anyway... Question I found these connectors when I was doing the shift boot, any ideas what they do??
warning about headlights... when i was cleaning my headlights i had the same problem as yours where it got a little crack on the side that didn't look like it was a big deal... i covered it and put it all back together... after 2-3 weeks a mate of mine put his fat ass on it and heard this crack noise and when he got up there was a HUGE crack on it... so do be carefull with it... i'd start looking for another one if i was you coz it does seem like they lose a fair ammount of their strength with even the smallest crack.
Ah no! Hopefully it doesn't happen :wacko: Thanks for the warning though man. I'll make sure no big asses sit on it... I wonder how much a new one will cost tho. But yeah I'll wait and see.

I think those plugs have something to do with the 'power/hold' and gear change/overdrive switches in an auto. Perhaps your car started of its life as an auto and has had the conversion done. Or maybe they are present in all the wiring looms whether they are used or not. Cliff

I did my interior consol and elec. wind. surrounds etc in silver, and soon blue interior trim kit. Also did some other stuff, constantly striving for a perfecter car lol.
