Hey guys, fitted a new set of studs to the front of the car yesterday which was pretty straight forward. Everythign is a bit tighter with big calipers and adaptors and brake air deflectors getting in the way... but I managed!

Has anyone done the rears? I'm thinking they could be a little more involved.... I'm hoping to do them today as a couple of the original studs are worn and have some slight play in them.

    Hey Rob,
Only difference from the front to the back is the recess to allow the studs to come out, the rear has the handbrake shoes in the way, so no recess and makes it harder to get the old ones out/new ones in, especially if they are the longer studs, but it is doable, you might need to rotate the hub back and forth to get the old ones out/new ones in so they clear the shoes....
(and obviously need to leave the handbrake down so you can get the rotors off) ;)

Yep, just rotate the hub to suit where you have room. Not too bad at all.

Just got my studs replaced by a mechanic, he only managed to complete the fronts as he told me the drive shaft was in the way of the rears and he couldnt get it loose. told me to drive it a bit to loosen it up

So do you just whack them out with a mallet? Or if you have the rear subframe out (as I do) get them pressed out somehow?

I gave them a quick spray with "nu lube" and hit them with a hammer. Came out without any problems.
