I replaced the hoses on my oil cooler but could only push the restrictor in the new hose about 1.5 cm. Would this matter if i just just plugged it onto the inlet tube on the cooler like this or does it need to be further down like they are on oem hoses? If so does anyone have an idea how to get the mongrel thing in there?

    Cheers

Shouldn't matter. As long as you have it in the right hose.

Didnt think it would, I might have to try push it down a bit further anyway tho, to give the clamp a good grip on the inlet :(

Yeah you probably want it an inch or so from the barb. See if you can pull it out, lube it up with some oil and push back in.

I lubed it up with grease and oil, just think the hose is too good for it - thick and no stretch

Tried using a heat gun to soften the hose up a bit at the same time? I remember having to swap the restrictor over once and it was a pain.
