    they are all saying they hope its a write off, but realistically if its just the engine to be replaced i doubt it will be.

    I doubt whether hydrolock is an insured event either. Why would it be? - it is not an accident. It is an act of dickhead, like driving without oil or water.

    But I feel for him nevertheless, it will be a very expensive lesson to observe the Police and SES warnings - NEVER drive through water across a road.

    When I went to buy my TT from the Sunshine Coast, there was a flooded road and some guy drove his corolla straight through it trying to cross as I stayed at the top of the hill watching, he got stuck half way bonnet completely submerged lol hydro-locked real quick. :rofl:

    Why do people continue to try to drive on flooded roads ?.Hell it was a sports car not a 4wd.Best case would be a right off.
