Thats the main reason... 1 foot of pipe compared to 11, + meth injection.

yeah but niall you are still at a puppy horsepower level ..:D

just because 405rwkw was made with stock cams doesnt mean it was efficient ..

if shifter threw in 256/9.3 jun cams it would have had more power/torque at every rpm ..guaranteed!

Why has Ron lost some power down low then? Too much overlap?
Also if you ran larger intake cams and standard exhaust cams (or visa versa) will that have benefits?

theres alot involved in getting the combination right .

he's got 20psi @ 4000rpm not too bad at all

dont forget he went bigger turbos ,bigger manis ,bigger cams ..(and still needs a few things to compliment them)

Ron can you overlap your gt28r dyno sheet with your recent one?

    Haven't lost any power

Still making 200rwkw at 4000rpm, which is as good as any if not better than most of the dyno charts on here, including Rob 260, JP's, shifters, Karls etc.
What i'm looking for is to make that a little better if it's possible.
Dyno chart from my old set up with the s-15 turbos for you Rob.

    I think your right

As i posted earlier, it's making 200rwkw at 3900rpm which is as good if not better than any of the dyno charts on here, rob260, slot car, shifters, karls etc, been overlaying most of them.
what i was looking to do was to make that a little better if possible to give it more pull down low
I also agree with your thinking on reliability issues by going smaller, heat being the main one.
Maybe i'm chasing the impossible but it's good to see everybodys thoughts on this.:)

I have nowhere near your power Ron, however from my dyno chart it seems I'm making 200rwkw at a smidge over 4000rpm (4070rpm @ 135kph). Mostly stock on 1 bar of boost.

If thats the case, maybe it's time to start looking at a gearset with tighter ratios for 2,3 and 4. Those 2 corners at wakey are ideally 3rd, but you pull out of them a few hundred RPM too low in the rev range. In second you can't get on the juice.

Question is, whats it worth to conquer the 1.0X at wakefield :) For me it's alot, I have a shopping list.

    Spot on as usual

Been braking left foot whilst trying to keep boost and revs up with the right.
If i go back to 2nd it's just to savage.
Whats a lower 3rd gear going to cost me?
    Shopping lists i'm over it,
    It never ends does it?

Are you bouncing off the limiter in 5th on straights anywhere? Is it worth looking at just getting a slightly lower ratio diff?

    Not at Wakefield

Pete, probably would be at Phillip Island if i went any lower.
Already running 4-11 leader diff gears.

Depends, I don't know if you'd just do 3rd, you might find then that your lagging on the shift into 4th.

I do know that a PPG helical set of 1-4 will set you back $6500...again...whats it worth :)

Plenty of OS Giken, PPG etc gearsets go second hand on SAU already installed in gearboxs. Much better to buy one already installed, you need a lot of S3 R33 GTS-T parts to make them fit.

put a heavier flywheel, if you put a lighter flywheel you will loose torque... right guys?

    well well how interesting

bigger turbos ,bigger manis ,bigger cams
and results are ..faster spool, more midrange and top end

engine is beginning to breathe now
volume makes up for airspeed ..up to a certain point ... balancing act

keep going with more breather mods Ron .you still have restrictions

Put the TT diff back in it. Then 2nd would be long enough for that turn.

I sold my Leader gears purely because of issues at Phillip island. Those short gears are not all they are cracked up to be at many circuits. Unless you are really in drag racing They are a bit useless IMO.

It would have to be better at Eastern creek as well.

We could try rigging up a temp twin intake without too much effort and test on dyno and see.
