    For a passenger seat?

    Yeah I hear ya!;)........but I 'may' have access to a genuine driver's seat?? :zlove::zlove:

............but the chance of finding a genuine matching passenger seat???......well I very much doubt I'd be lucky enough for that to happen? :(
most of the time these things only become available as a pair!

So........I'm just wondering if i could get a 'knock off' & re-trim them both to look the same???..............hey after all I won't be the one sitting in it! :p:p

i hear yah... i want bride cugas in my next car but i cant justify paying $1500-$1800 for a passenger seat!

why not go one realy nice new recaro or bride and then just have a copy, leave it in its original trim and everything.

don't mix and match seats. 1 real and 1 shit copy looks rubbish.

i'm glad i changed both instead of doing only one. that'd look daft.

but that's the point!.......if it's a good enough copy?? (same overall shape & size??, harness holes etc etc).......then I'm hoping once BOTH seats get re-trimmed in the same leather they will no longer look like a mis-matched pair?.........even though under the surface the driver seat is genuine but the passenger is not??

Have a look on SAU and NS for reviews. They sell a few of them over there.

I know the seats that Repco/Autobarn sell don't fell very nice. Fabrics feel cheap and nasty, plastics all look flimsy. You get what you pay for :p

Remember you'll be paying a fair bit to get them recovered, more $$ to get them mounted, more $$ for engineering certificate or whatever you need down there. By the time it's all done you would've been better off buying genuine Z32 Recaro's. Someone had a set of sale here in the last few days.

No you can't have mine :p

mmm food for thought!......yeah I saw the genuine RECARO for sale thread!......would be interested but RZM only paid $1450 delivered for his 1998 model seats!!
so IMO $1900 for 94 model might be a bit overpriced??.......but as they are so rare??.......who knows?......maybe Mikey just got lucky! ;)

This thought process all started because as I said there is an opportunity to buy a GENUINE drivers seat!........so I was just wondering about options to make the front seats 'appear' to be the same?? ;)

The interior being re-trimmed is on the agenda regardless! :zlove:.......so the $$ for this are not an major concern! ;)

As far as I know the '94 and '98 Recaro's are identical. It's only the 2k ones that are different (what I have :D)

I reckon that the ones for sale at $1900 are too expensive. That's what I paid for mine.

yep the 2k ones are more sedate. black and blue, looks good. seats themselves are exactly the same but the earlier versions had the whole camo thing going on and it's a bit old school.

Yea its not too bad tho. One thing I did notice with the copies is the sides look thinner and perhaps weak? One thing I don't like about racing seats is they don't have a padded headrest.

I looked at these exact same seats in person for my zed as justjap is only 10 mins from my place. Quality is far from good when compared to an original recaro or bride.

The ones i was looking at was in "black leather" with red double stitching $600 for the pair i think, they were ok, but stock zed seats retrimmed, looks million times better.
They do have other good bits and peices there but these copy seats would be good in a daily run around or a beaten up 180sx

Thanks for the info!.......looks like I need to find an alternative 'RECARO Style' seat for my passenger solution for a visually matching pair??
