weights? Last night I had to shift my second hand engine and it has only the heads and crank pulley removed yet I was still able to lift it off the ground onto a trailer by myself. I was expecting it to be much heavier.

    Hey Shane.

May I please have your old cracked head?
Wont be happy less I've perfectly port-matched the manifolds I'm making so I really need some heads.
    Cheers mate,

I know what you are up to Egg :)

Port matching manifolds - my arse. :) If I know you well enough you're most probably up to the same project I'm thinking of doing later this year. You can borrow my heads but I will need them back later in the year if that's ok?

    Ohhhhh?

    I'm up to something?
Nah... no ulterior motives here. Want to do some port matching less there is some real clever folks out there who can do a CAD thingy so I can simply get some laser cuts done.... but even if mega accurate I'd still need to do minor matching I think, and I suspect many of the heads will be slightly different anyway.
Ponders the word association of "port matching manifolds - my arse" and decides to make no poor jokes. :)
    What was your project/idea?

but don't you port match using the exhaust

manifold gasket as the template? With all those turbos lurking in your garage I was wondering if you were going to weld up your own exhaust manifold. When do you need to the heads? I can drop them off after easter sometime.

    Good idea.

If the gaskets are spot on. Bet they're not though. They're often bigger.
Ohhh yeah, damn tempted to bolt on those TD07's for sure as a T4 manifold is on my to do list... But seriously who needs a 1200+hp Z? (couldn't drive it to the shops)
I was talking about port matching my custom manifolds in the first instance :) not worth porting the stockies makes little or no difference to flow as the ports aren't the restriction.
Going to work on three for now. T4 with 4 extra holes to fit a T3 as well. Stock T25 tubular that flows bigtime and TD05. :)
Ohhh yeah, who does extrude honing in Aus any idea, Shane? (just another low budget thought)
Cheers Chewy. I'll come grab them if I need them. Thanks heaps.

    there's a place down south

setup by a guy that worked at www.extrudehone.com and now does the same process over here. They need your heads, plenum and exhaust manifold to extrude hone the complete set and obviously also port matches everything by the nature of the process. I'm trying to find their name in archive of emails I have.

I'll take the one on the left and you can

have the one on the right :) Turbos are some much neater with no internal wastegates. Maybe I'll change to even bigger turbos down the track once I get sick of the GT2530's.
