Does anyone other than Nissan sell heater cores? Where did you guys (if you had to) get your heater core? She busted on me last night and left me 35ks away from home in the city! And my carpet stinks now -_-

    It's a 1994 Mitsubishi Mirage Heater core.
You would know this if you bothered to do a quick Search in the Tech section of this forum, instead of wanting everyone else to do it for you(on every occasion).[TIS]

About to do my own heater core... surely it isn't that hard dash in? I managed stock dump removal with engine in, is it worse than that?

the tech section for the heater core removal tells you what tool you need to do the dash in. weird ratchet spannel thing that folds 90 degrees from initial position.

Yeah they arnt too expensive at supercheap... About 36 odd. Sometimes tho I wonder about trying to take the so called easy way, but with the extra fiddling and nice words spoken it probably takes longer? Just called Nissan $600 brand new from Japan!

and if you listened to chili and searched a bit more the mirage can be gotten for a 1/4 of the price. try NATRAD before you try mitsubish dealerships.

took 2 seconds to find thread via search:

From memory the fittings are different with USDM and JDM heater cores. Did you specify a RHD heater core?

The heater tap and pipes are opposite, so have to use your old ones. Core is the same. If you get one from natrad I don't think it will have a tap either.

I got a new tap delivered from RHD Japan for $50

Have a set of these and they are great.... just be careful as too much force when tightening or loosening can break the teeth mechanism that locks the head at the angle that you need. Rendering them almost useless for the hard to reach places.

Doing the heater core dance myself too!! will attempt dash in.

Just pull the dash, would be easier than trying to stuff around leaving it in. I was suprised how easy it is to get the dash out after doing it the other week.
