After my Nationals engine hiccup, OK, more than a hiccup, the rebuilt engine is just about ready to go back into RZ2 . Full details and more pics to come soon ..... Here's Joe (at Dontex) bolting the gearbox back up. Notice the engine removal method - whack the car on a hoist, and drop the crossmember, motor and gearbox as one.
Good stuff Mikey! Pulling motor like that was the norm at AMEC... I'd expect it to be the same and any place with a hoist actually...
looking good mike ...will be good to see her back on the road again hope to see more details soon! Ryan
that engine looks AWESOME. My plenum is done in orange with black timing covers but the orange on the timing covers looks VERY good. Nice work. Peace
That hose came from forum member Caz ... http://www.cazracing.com.au/catalog/index.php Can't remember if it was a reducer or a coupler, it's been 2 years, but I'm pretty sure it's just a coupler. I've zoomed in on a different pic on the other side of the motor, perhaps a bit clearer.
I doubt it will make 300rwkw. When dynoed before it was at 255rwkw at 16lb with some issues; Bob couldn't finish the HiTec tune. I need this motor to last, so I won't be running silly boost, 16-18psi will be fine I think. Basically the motor is a 0.5mm rebore, stock bottom end, GCG rebuilt stockies with a bb 25-30 core, and Nismo 555's. After its run in and I go for round 2 with Bob and the Hi-Tec, I think 275rwkw would see me happy.
looking great mikey, 275 is a very nice number. are they stock dumps i see? planning to upgrade at all?
