I have a problem with an AEM Boost gauge, I need an IGN source that does not cut out when you crank the engine.

Anyone know what source I should use? Tried the normal ones (cig lighter etc.) but they all drop on crank.

Might be able to get one from the ECU.

What do you need that for?

Well my boost gauge needs a constant 12v and an ign wire to turn the gauge on. Basically when the gauge starts it calibrates to atmo pressure then you start the car, but if the ign drops when turning on the gauge turns off then re calibrates to vacuum pressure of the engine giving bad readings.

    Black wire with red stripe

on the ignition loom is the one you want.

Tap into the key-side of any immobilisation you may have on that wire.
