Is it straight forward to remove the Front Lower Control Arm / Transverse Link ?

Car on stands, wheels off, just as below ?

Is it that easy to reassemble ?

3 bolts and 4 nuts to remove, will need to hit the ball joint out but that's not very hard. Worst bit is usually cleaning the 20+ years of road grime off the threads to get the nuts off.

    Thanks guys, thought as much.

About to do bushes and ball joint (if needed), I know the bushes are stuffed.

I rang a local suspension place $1500 for labour, mind you it did include a 4 wheel alignment.

I looked at it and thought maybe there is more too it, lets hope they were not sure and quoted a stupid price.

What about getting the bush and ball joint out, fairly straight forward ?

Both can be difficult. Are you replacing the bush with urethane? If so you'll pretty much need to burn out the old one (you may be able to press it out if it's degraded enough and you heat up the shell from the outside), but the ball joint definitely needs to be pressed out. No chance will you get it out using just hand tools.

Yeah I meant as normal for a ball joint and bush, so just the usual thing.

Im using some rubber Nismo bushes I got from rob260.

Easy enough to press out. Though make sure you fit some sort of spacer around the bush when pressing it out and back in to ensure you don't deform the LCA, as they're only pressed steel.

Thanks, I was a bit curious as the bushes are not sold by Nissan but are variable as a Nismo part, Nissan only sell arm complete, I thought the reason would be it is very possible to damage the arm doing so.

Maybe not a job for a local mechanic, exhaust shop or suspension place.

The last pressing job I out sourced they damaged my AC pulley putting in a bearing ffs. :bash:

Might seek out a good engineering shop, don't want the car off the road scrounging for an arm.
