Ive been looking around to try and find a final answer to which fuel is the best for my Z. Ive seen that it comes down to probably 3 choicesBP Ultimate Mobil Synergy 8000 Shell OptimaxIve seen that the ultimate has alot less sulfer than the others The Synergy burns at alot lower temps and can be better for the engine generally during summer. Is there any experts out there to give a final answer?
Being in QLD ... ... I use only ULTIMATE (preferred) but do take advantage of COLES/SHELL discount whenever there's a significant advantage.HOWEVER ... last week I used my 4cents/litre discount at a (never used b4) little SHELL servo at Benowa and straight away my 'cat-warning' light came on when boosting. Mmmh ... not happy Jan! What was in THAT load of fuel? Ethanol?Should follow my own advice ... buy ULTIMATE only at high volume sites, eh? :s
Mobil Is the best Optimax is a crock, make sure if u use optimax that u do not let it sit in ur tank as it does go off and can turn in to a sludgie mix. Mobil works well and highly recommend it as my car is not stock so am very fussy with stuff like that. But in the end choice is yours.:YD
Vortex No-one has mentioned Vortex (Caltex) .... I use it in my bike (2004 CBR1000RR Fireblade) .. and have been using it in my Z TT since I got it a month ago... Seems fine ... but don't know if it could go better..Taz
BP ultimate i only use BP ultimate very good stuff its 98 octane. jap fuel is something like 100 octane so its pretty close
isnt vortex a lower octane? I think i remember the guy behind the counter saying it was only 96 octane.
Guess there all good but i use....... SHELL OPTIMAX, altoutgh BP, SHELL AND MOBILE use all australian oil with has the purest best quality oil in the world so it makes the best fuel, aslong as you use one of those 3 u should be fine, but i use OPTIMAX only and my car runs excellent!:-Z :-Z :-Z
Lower from what I heard too but was caught up in the hype so people thought it was 98 octane like the other special ones
