Big thanks to all the supporters who came out yesterday! Huge thanks to my usual pit crew members heavytrevy and sds300zx. The Good: - acceleration is definately quicker - ABS working is definately better - new rear slicks did their job - was able to get the power down coming out of the dipper and turn 6 The Bad: - massive flat spots on the front tyres caused huge vibration at the end of the straight at 200kmh. will have to replace the fronts. this was definately not helping with straight line speed. - suspension is far too "bouncy" coming out of turns 1 and 2. - my motor is starting to show signs that she is on her last legs, possibly bit of blow by smoke. The Result: official best lap time was a 58.1 although my on car lap timer showed a 57.8. will have to wait for the results but I think that was 2nd in class and 6th overall.
Excitment Was a great day, some not so good news pete about the engine mabe a comp test will show? Here are some average pics I took. I am yet to find out what the hel is in that orange escort. I must have been the fastest car out there(sorry pete but is was fast) The dredded Torana
good day for racing nice and cool, good to catch up with everyone can't wait till sept now here are a couple of the pics i took had some more but these were the best ones.
There is something majorly wrong with that Tonara(yes Tonara), it looks all twisted, even when it's going down the straight. Aza you making me hate my camera more.
Hey Pete, how long have you had that wing on? Notice much improvment with it? Also with the timing, do you have your pitwall timing device in the same position (finish line) that they take their timing from? Wouldnt be surprised if QR's timing is wrong if they are still using the guy clicking a mouse as the cars cross the finish line like they did when I was racing there.
they have an electronic system now they put a metal strip thingo on the inside of ya windscreen now and that triggers something over the start finish line...
